2.5L tuning options and performance

I’m still waiting for the injen cai and then will compare dyno charts and price, I just think that sealed cai won’t make as good sound as the open one but performance would probably be better, still gotta see the dyno charts

Not that I don't believe in published dyno charts, but especially with respect to COLD AIR INTAKES, I'd have to question the validity of the results, unless we know for a fact it was run with the hood closed and reasonable ventilation. Cannot speak for everyone, but I don't drive with my hood propped up, and giant cooling fan(s) blowing on the open engine bay. That's how a lot of these dyno shops run them.

Here are some real world metrics that might help you. I am RWD and several guys with AWD have done much better at 0-60
What is your 2.5 Capable of?
Bottom line up front…
The JB4 MAP4 added roughly 45-50 HP. It dropped over .5 sec on the 1/8 and gained 7 mph trap, and dropped roughly .8 sec off the 0-60 I estimate the HP of the 2.5t around 340 as it sits.

Stock Weight 3740TempAltitudeDA0-6060’1/8MPH1/4MPH
No JB7524016206.172.2609.3078.54
Map4 E327733818005.402.1408.7584.9213.31107.78

My stock AWD was about the same as yours.
Map 2 for me was:
0-60 5.6 (5.35 with 1'). 1/8 8.96 @ 81mph. 1/4 13.7 @ 104mph.

That's all not using launch control, as for some reason when I do, it will often screw up the 1-2 shift, feels like a fuel cutoff.

Looks like the E30 and Map 4 blend is certainly providing some additional Ooomph! :)

FWIW, the 10% coupon code emailed ended up in my spam folder. Probably because they send them out in batches. So check there if you don't see it in your inbox.

Is anybody here running e30 on their 2.5L?
If yes, can you explain what you need for it and how you calculate it. I have access to e85 and I have jb4 on map 2 rn

The best way is to install a flex sensor from BMS. I did it on my 2.5 and it wasn't difficult. The other way is just a guess because we assume E-85 is actually 85% ethanol. In reality it can drop down into the 60% in the winter depending on the station. If it is a good summer blend at 85%, 4 gallons of E to 9 gallons of unleaded will get you pretty close.

Can i get a link?

Afe made new open CAI for 2.5L
Available in March compared to sealed one in February
Apparently can’t share a link because i’m a new user

I stumbled onto that while I was surfing for an alternate source for the AFE kit. IMO, the open airbox nullifies the single most important advantage AFE has, but... it does open up ( pun intended) the ability to fabricate a removable top cover, which I would prefer, as the fully-enclosed version doesn't seem to have. Kudos to them for offering the option.

BTW, as much as I like the true "cold air intake" nature of AFE's fully enclosed system, I decided to cancel my pre-order and wait for the Injen kit instead. I like how Injen allows for a larger cone filter, and it sucks in air from the cooler fender well, in addition to the rather small stock intake port on the front grill. Even though there is no top cover, I can always fabricate one, like I did with the 2.0T Injen kit.

Fill it fit 2.5L?
Yes, the fittings on the HPFP are exactly the same. I put mine after the fuel rail with the port injection, before the HPFP. You can put it before the rail port injection also, tons of options. I owe this thread some install photos, I'll try and get to it in the next day or so.

Can anyone link the Injen CAI and expected availability plz

I'm keeping an eye out for the Injen as well.
