Anyone else have oil leaking from this location?

Went to do an oil change today, and notice oil dripping on the steering rack motor. seems to be either coming out of the top of the oil filter housing near the crank and or from where the oil cooler attaches to the filter housing.

Anyone else have this issue?

Car is a 2022 GT2 with 72,000 miles

Looks like it might be a slow leak where those 3 bolts are....I would give em a little tighten spray it down clean and look to see if it continues.
Careful tightening them, they dont take much torque..being plastic and all.

that's what I though as well until i noticed it was also leaking at the top right under the crank pulley

I would fully clean that, and then monitor closely, to identify the source.

at the top it looks more like some belt dust...doesnt look wet to me. If its oil it must be real small non persistent leak or it would stain and travel like in the lower section

was able to get a mirror in there yesterday. it's a small leak from in between the oil cooler and oil filter housing. more than likely the gasket, but i'm just going to replace the entire assembly.

Have the exact oil leak on my car. You replaced the oil cooler and oil filter housing? What exact part did you replace? Thank you.

nothing yet as I am waiting for parts, but I ordered the oil cooler(26410-3LTA0) and oil filter housing(26310-3LTA0) which also comes with the 2 needed gaskets. I don't want to replace one thing and still have an issue as it's in an annoying spot to get to

Ok I’ll check back with you in the near future to see if this fixed the leak. Good luck.

Please let us know how it goes.

I had mine replaced last year at around 135,000km. Sources the parts myself and got my mechanic to install. In total it was around $500 CDN to replace the oil cooler/filter housing + install.

What was the cause?

Finally did it today.

It was the gasket that is between the oil cooler and oil filter housing. Job is a pain, but you do not need to drain all of the engine oil or coolant as the manual says.

Having the front of the car up on ramps then just draining the oil filter housing no other oil will leak out. Then 2 hose clamps on the oil cooler lines stops the coolant from coming out. What you see in the pictures is whatever coolant was left in the cooler

I guess it is this part #
#17

Oil Filter Housing Seal - Kia (26343-3LTA0)
2018-2023 Kia - 263433lta0

part #17 was the issue, but with how long it took to do i just replaced the entire housing and cooler just in case it was warped as well. Didn't want to possibly do the job twice

I have this leak too on a 2018 with 60,000km. So... this is gonna be a recurring issue? I don't see why it won't just fail again.

Stay out of the threads where people are replacing the whole engines.

My son just called and said his 2019 GT1 with 64k miles has a leak in the water pump and around the oil filter housing. He is wondering if thats part of the 100k power train warranty, does anyone know.

I hope this isn't telling me that my 2022 GT1 will develop the same issues soon?

I replaced my oil filter housing/cooler in Jan 2023 @ 135,000km (it was leaking badly and left a small pool of oil on ground) and now my new one is starting to show signs of a minor leak again @ 160,000km. Wtf
