Anyone else had issues with their folding mirrors? Lately it is hit and miss if my drivers mirror will fold in. Usually miss. I haven’t hit the button and they aren’t frozen. I lock the doors and the passenger mirror folds fine, but the drivers mirror does not. If I manually fold it in it might work once or twice, then stops working again.

I think that this is the first "one folds in and the other won't" issue (I haven't heard of one before). And it must be a bungled mirror. Surely this is reproducible for the dealer.

Heading in for an oil change next week, hopefully it will be something easy to fix. Still waiting on some window trim for 5 months now due to a back order.

If the mirror is faulty, they won't "fix" it, they'll replace it. And that won't happen quickly, more than likely. They'll order one. We have all heard how long that kind of thing can take. But at least a mirror that doesn't fold in reliably isn't remotely in the same category as, say, needing a front bumper or even a headlight.

We have a similar issue on our 2018 Premium. Driver's side mirror stop folding. Replacement isn't cheap, so at least it works for now as a mirror, but I'd like to fix it. I wish Kia sold the internal parts for it instead of just the entire mirror. Has anyone disassembled one to look at the folding mechanism (I haven't found anything online)?

I had the same issue with passenger side. kia ordered the new mirror and replaced it under warranty. They said water can collect inside form rain or washing the car

Did they mention if they fixed the issue with water or can it happen with the new one?

yes it can happen again bad design, I always blow dry my car and I still had damage. When you wash your car and don't blow the water out of the mirror you will see streaks of water run down the doors

Any idea how I can ID which part number mirror I have? The descriptions I see online don't provide enough info. Pretty sure it's the one with memory but not heated, but I'm not sure how to confirm the actual part number.

My side windows folds the glass inside of it want go down when I put the car in reverse n put it back in drive haven't touch anything

I’m having the same issue with my drivers side mirror. I have a 2018 GT2. The problem seems more frequent in cold and wet conditions. I need to see if my original warranty is intact.

Mine started creaking and making noise when it closes and opens. Hope mine doesnt go out soon.

The creaking and popping does happen sometimes for me. I’m getting it looked at Friday of next week.

my passenger side mirror crapped out. the motor would whir, but it wouldn't move. it was still under warranty so the dealer just swapped out a new one.

Good thing it was under warranty.

My issue is the mirrors are folding all the time when I lock the car, even when I put it on the left selection that is supposed to hold them out.

Do they fold in if you have them on auto and use the door lock button? Using the fob will fold them in. In my own carport I never lock the doors with the fob and leave my mirrors extended.

That is extremely interesting...
I guess the 3 way switch is stuck in "auto".

Do they fold in when you manually select the right side selection?

Yep.

Yes. I don't use the fob.
