Will you update?

Podľa popisu som si myslel, že je to novinka pre modely, ktoré predtým nefungovali bezdrôtovo. Mám aj AA bezdrôtový adaptér, funguje dobre

Found it here - in Europe (Ctrl+f - wireless)

I am surprised, and impressed that Kia would add wireless Android Auto / Wireless Car Play. Lucky Europeans.

Canada, USA and Australia- no addition of wireless.

But…what if we have a friend download and post the European update and put it on a USB drive and and and put *that* in our port?

Will that work?

Huh?

Will it?

I 100% support the experiment.
Been Using the Motorola sound MA1 lately, and it has been flawless for me. Nearly instant connection and zero glitches (so far).

Not sure how much, if at all, better integrated wireless android auto, or wireless carplay could be.

I suspect even if it worked to update the FW, it might try to install maps for Europe instead of the US, and then you could be screwed.
I would imagine it wouldn’t even work though, it probably checks for the correct market the vehicle was destined for.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Dont bother. That option is pretty clearly for the newer infotainment systems, not ours.

Fail Fail fail... This is ota updates. Pass...

I have a 2019, manufactured in December 2018, 8 inch display. I tried wireless after the update - it doesn't work. It's probably for newer versions of the system. But the description of the update is very bad... I use the AA wireless adapter, it works very well.

I use this wireless adaptor. Works great and fits straight into the slot without need for extra cables etc. Was worried it would stay 'always on' as the BT indicator light was still on when I locked the car - but it seems to turn off after about 10 mins of the car being locked.

Phone connects immediately as I enter the car, everything seems to work well.

It looks great. If it is retracted, can the center console door be closed? Any photo would help...Thanks!

Yes it fits (and connects to phone fine) with the center console closed. See pics.

Took one for the team for You all and Used a VPN to grab the European update for my G70. It went through the install completely, then on reboot it flashed a message for 1 second saying the update was incompatible with a missing hardware error. restarted the car to try and get the error to come back and it reverted to the previous version. Proceeded to update to the latest version with the USA download and all is well. Added Genesis pay and all the other stuff but no wireless as expected.

Good to know and thanks for the effort.

Looks like there is no direct wireless in our future, only dongles like my Carlinkit 3.0 which was working fine until I installed the May 2023 navigation update, then nope.

Still working through that with the manufacturer, Kia, and Apple.

have you tried a different dongle, or the same dongle on a different car? Just wanting to make sure all the variables are checked.

I’ve been shopping at alternatives including Ottocast and made note of irtg’s suggestion, above. I haven’t tried it on other vehicles, but the Carlinkit 3.0 worked very well until the Stinger update. It’s now misbehaving outside the car due to a firmware update from them. I’ve received further instructions from them which I’ll implement later today.

Yeah, root cause analysis.

Just a heads up for anyone with the 22-23's, it appears like the most recent update fiddled with something that would determine how the under front seat subs respond to music, as after the update, the subs under my seats feel more "alive" than they used to, at the same volume level with no messing of the in car EQ settings. I thought I was going insane this morning so I brought up the track that I have always used to measure a speaker systems responsiveness and frequency capabilities, and sure enough I can feel them more on each hit of the bass drum. Its not a huge difference, maybe 20%? but it was enough to notice. Tried a few other songs and can notice a difference as well.
