Grinding/Rubbing Noise Left Front When Turning

Mine makes these noises. Friend's stinger also makes these noises. Usually from dead stop to full steering lock turns.
Same. Im starting to think it is just a normal thing on the stingers. Seems like it probably is not an issue just something we have to deal with. My stinger only does this rubbing noise on the front passenger wheel and it is when I am turning all the way left. After that I do not hear the sound anymore and it does not have any effect on the car. Probably something we just have to bypass and keep enjoying our stingers!

I have the same problem on my g70.. odd.. I will go to my dealership Tuesday. Will post back.

Are you RWD and did they change the diff fluid?

Yours sounds like the inner fender wheel liner rubbing

It wasn’t. It was cause the diff oil that was used. I have not heard that sound since I switched the oil out to something different.

I have had my sunroof replaced and it still creaks and rattles. It dies my head in, it appears to be rubbers or seat for the roof. Also i have recently noticed my 2020 GT starting to make the grinding noise. It is as everyone says, for a short period and at low speed.
Yes, mine is just like that. Do you have any idea what it is? Drives me crazy. Has anyone actually had this looked in to?

As an aside, my sunroof clunking noise over bumps has also gotten progressively worse. I think it is in the headliner.

for me, they determined it is the electronic AWD adjusting. I had looked for a place to add fluid only to realize there IS no fluid, lol.

The electronic AWD is CONSTANTLY adjusting pressure, I was monitoring it the other day just for fun. it's VERY active and dynamic. I should get a screen grab

Too bad that can’t be it since mine is RWD lol

So you just living with your grinding? Then whatever happens happens?

Sorry, confusing post....I meant no power steering fluid, meaning I was looking to add fluid because I thought maybe the issue was from that. But turned out that the AWD system is what makes the noise, at least in my case.
Insane that so many stingers have this noise and no one has been able to figure out where it is coming from. I’m so determined to figure it out. But no luck in 2 years. Hopefully people keep posting here if they have tried things or had any success.

I've been experiencing the same issue for two to three years. The dealership has a hard time replicating the issue but they did once and say it is actually the rear control arms that is reverberating around to sound like the front. They also drove a 2022 GT2 and said the could replicate the issue with the brand new car, So this is not a warranty issue. I don't know if I totally agree and was thinking it is the driver side front strut mount but further investigation will be needed. So it sounds like contacting Kia will be the next step as this is unacceptable for a 4-year-old car and also a new car. @kiausa
Mine sounds just like that

I have owned two stingers. My current one will also make that sound going straight and up to about 20mph. I want to figure this out so bad

Anyone ever tried a wheel bearing for this?

My stinger has had this noise for over 2 years now and I still don't get an answer from the dealer as to what is the issue. I keep on mention it to them with every service. Mine is a RWD btw.

Would be great to see some if anyone has make a breakthrough and solved this problem

I'm actually having the same issue with my Stinger currently. My dealer has replaced:

- Strut mount bearings
- Struts
- Wheel bearings

They're currently looking at, with the help of a Kia engineer:

- Body welds (removing fenders, examining body welds along the front frame where torque may be making them move out of position/too far due to poor welds or weak metal)
- Subframe (dropped the subframe, examining the subframe for warping/weak welds/weak steel)

Per the Kia engineer that examined my car, this is not a normal characteristic of the vehicle and should be examined. I guess I'm just lucky enough that my dealer contacted Kia engineering to have this looked at.

If they cannot get any farther with examination, they are going to replace the subframe. What happens after that if it continues is anyone's guess. Below is the video that I had recorded on my dashcam when they were trying to replicate the noise, as well as my personal quick shots of me trying to make it do it.

If it means anything I did the upgraded subframe bolts and added shims/bushing to the subframe as well.. the sound did not improve. Still so insane no one has ever figured it out. You think a technician could pinpoint it better since it for sure does it worse when it’s cold.. makes me think it is something rubber. I have not done the control arm and bushing replacement or the radius arm bushing upgrade that is sold. Has anyone tried either of these? I’m tempted to think it’s one of those…

Well, got mine back from Kia. They replaced the entire subframe and both lower control arms, that seems to have done the trick as far as I've tested today. I'll post back in a week of additional testing to follow up.
