I am about a week or so away from this service on my 19GT2. What should I expect and how much does it actually cost? What is absolutely a must and what should I avoid the dealer trying to upsell me on? TIA.
What do they do to justify silly pricing? Doesn't seem to show much in the required maintenance area. Dona few years ago the 30,000 miles service cost over $700. The 60,000 miles service the same one cost over a thousand. ludicrous increase on an already expensive comprehensive service. I don't think they upsold me because the items are in the manual. just hold them to that.
Yep, they did the same to me around the 22k mark as well. Is it really necessary? There still pushing me to do injector cleaning at 20k plus miles for $270
it's labor intensive mostly. kia has a service schedule that goes like this, 1,2,1,3,1,2,1,4. going through that twice will get you up to about 60,000 miles. '1' is the basic oil and filter and all points inspection. '2' adds, as does '3', which is supposed to include everything in '1' and '2'. same for the big one, '4', which inspects practically everything that hasn't already been covered in 1-3, such as inspecting the fuel lines, emission system, exhaust system, suspension steering transfer case and seatbelts integrity. just the labor alone easily goes over $500, then if they replace fluids, which they of course will do in a heartbeat, it is expensive. but a forty percent increase in the pandemic era? please. What do they do to justify silly pricing? Pretty much as I expected. Just looking down the road, car has less than 10K miles and want to be well informed. DonFollow your manual, not what your dealer suggests.
At 30k miles all you need is an oil change and brake fluid replaced. At 36k miles you'll need rear diff fluid if you're limited slip, and at 42k miles you'll need new plugs.
are your injectors acting funny? There still pushing me to do injector cleaning at 20k plus miles for $270
No the car drives great that's why I'm hesitant to do itare your injectors acting funny?
Sounds like a dealer specific item.
There's that word again. Inspect...Check. Biggest con ever. Every make does it, not just Kia. Seatbelt integrity? Seriously?inspecting the fuel lines, emission system, exhaust system, suspension steering transfer case and seatbelts integrity. just the labor alone easily goes over $500, then if they replace fluids, which they of course will do in a heartbeat, it is expensive. but a forty percent increase in the pandemic era? please.
