So my 2018 stinger has these two problems since i bought it used back in nov 2022. I guess i should've probably had them look at it even back then but i didnt because these two problems didnt really affect the car much. But i kinda want everything to work in a car that's only 5 years old and having only 37k miles.

1. The auto engine shutoff at idle: it would intermittently work and not work. I still have not been able to figure out the pattern.
2. The remote start , the engine just keep cranking but it never achieve actual engine start

Much appreciated any help. thanks

Your idle stop & go (the shutoff at idle) intermittently working could have numerous reasons. If you do a lot of short trips it's most likely battery charge condition. There are numerous conditions that must be met in order for it to work and I believe they're all listed in the manual.

Not sure about your remote start issue.

Yeah, i thought about that too. but the problem is that when it doesn't work, the orange light for it comes on. Even when the condition is not met for auto idle off, i don't think that orange warning light should come on.

As for the remote start, i don't know if that was something that was a built in option or not but at least for my car, it wasn't something that came with the car from the factory directly. It seemed like it was a kia aftermarket thing? this was listed in the carfax as something that was installed by the first kia dealer that received the car. And it has a separate remote start fob that even have the kia logo on it. The remote start never work correctly so far for me...

the orange 'A' is the normal response for the idle stop go function being on but not active because conditions are not met.

Exactly this. When the orange light comes on it means that ISG is active, but conditions aren't met. If there were an actual problem it's supposed to display an error. When my battery is low and my ISG doesn't work (even though I usually disable it immediately), the amber light comes on at the button you use to enable/disable it.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Where would this error be displayed at?

Also, my idle feature could never even stay active for the whole duration of a 3 min stoplight. It stopped for maybe 1-2 minutes. Kinda like what's the point then? Most other cars i drove that have this feature would be engine off for the whole stop. Even a 5 min extended stop at a fast food window!

This is by design....

300 seconds max, if all other conditions are met.
