The rear door panels had the protective pieces on them when I bought it used with 5k on it and was 9 months old. I peeled them off and this was left on the panel. What is something safe to remove this with?

isopropyl alcohol
I've read that wd40 is a good cleaner on stuff like this but I haven't tried it yet. right now, if I had a job like yours, I'd try the wd40 first because I already know what the alcohol does and hope that the wd40 would dissolve the glue quicker.

Ok, I was hesitant to use alcohol first, thought it might dry/discolor it. I will try the wd40 first though. Thanks

I would start with an interior leather cleaning spray before Id start rubbing random shit on your interior but thats just me.

Do not use isopropyl alcohol !!! All modern leather have a clear coat on them. Using the alcohol will damage the coating, breaking it down and peal away. It may even discolour the leather . Also never use the Product Goo Gone! I have used baby oil on a leather jacket years ago with success.

Baby oil sounds like a safe option. If you can rub it on a baby its probably safe for your interior.

sparingly, I should have included. I don't 'rub' with rubbing alcohol on interior surfaces. it's a good go-to for clearcoat outside, and chrome, when water won't take some bit of road grime off. but even there, I don't go to town rubbing with rubbing alcohol. like I suggested, for the residue of packing tape and the like I'd try wd40 first. it works as a cleaning oil on this very thing, I've read about it. and there isn't anything in it that would attack leather coatings. it either works right away or you can just quit if it isn't cutting the adhesive. the only thing I'll rub vigorously with is water. if some other solution isn't cutting it, extra scrubbing is only risking what you said.

Initially I thought you were talking about the exterior panel..

There is a transparent protective piece at the base of the rear doors both sides and is left on by the dealership after they strip all the other stuff off which is actually coloured white. It was explained to me that it is to reduce paint chips.

actually three pieces, and yes, they are plastic protection film, ppf, the same stuff that a front 'bra' is made of.

The wd40 did the trick. Had to massage it a while to get all of it off. Finished up with some leather conditioner and it looks good. Thanks again

great. I thought it would. and wd40 isn't a bad 'leather conditioner' itself. at least you can't harm leather in any way by using it as a cleaner. that's why I said that I'd try it first before alcohol. I know how alcohol behaves, and if it doesn't touch the stain / blemished area with an initial gentle wipe, then it isn't going to get it off before enough rubbing could hurt the leather. alcohol is really good at cutting a variety of contaminants, but it has to work fast without elbow grease. if you have to rub hard or long, alcohol should be passed by.
