Happened again this morning. It definitely was not cloudy, so that's not a potential cause. I have not yet updated the firmware. This is a screen shot from the video I took, but I can't post videos to this forum unless it's a web host with a URL. In the 30 second video, the distance jumps from the 15.2 miles shown here to over 42 miles away. The Stinger is fast, but not that fast! What's most annoying is the multiple beeps every second as it updates. I've no idea where it's going or if it would ever stop. I did not have my phone connected and was just listening to the radio, which I could still hear (between the beeps). At least I have evidence if I ever take it to the dealership.
I upgraded last night. No gremlins so far with about 5 hours of driving time on it. The default KIA nav app is terrible for searching for addresses. I try typing in an address that has been there for 30+ years and I get the "No results found" message. Then I enter the address in Apple Maps and it pops right up. The KIA map data is clearly there, it just doesn't want to search it for some reason. This was before the update also.

In the EU, it will refuse to search in the neighbouring country (even if you're just on the border) unless you add the country name at the end. For example, if I'm in Vienna and type "Ibis Bratislava". It's only 40 miles away but will not find it unless I also type "Slovakia" at the end.
Maybe something similar with the states in the US?

Interesting. I know on a state level if I type in, say, Black Rock Coffee, It will come up with results in the neighboring state of Washington just about 23 miles away. Haven't tried it for Canada. I might just try to search for Rogers Arena without "Canada" and see if it pops up on mine.
Addresses seem finicky on mine as well, but it doesn't seem to be because I don't put "US" after it. Some come up fine, others don't and it doesn't look like it's because the maps are outdated. If I really need to find a place I'll just plug in Android Auto and use Google Maps since it is far more accurate and up-to-date, even if I'm out in your neck of the woods.
Tried an address with a zip code and no results. When I tried the name of the establishment, it came right up and showed the address I was trying to enter. #stupid
The ghost in the nav has not yet appeared since the update. I did also put it into 2D mode when it was in 3D mode before.
o, tupid electronics fubars sstrike again, and again, and aaagain. you will notice the mising and spuriouss "ss" in thi post. and don't even ask me to try and produce an uppercae "", see? it didn't take. thi has just started this week. but I cannot duplicate it for the pc laptops people. I jut came back from there le than an hour ago, and the "" key worked fine for him and for me too, in hi preence. but a you can ee, now the "s" key has almost entirely stopped functioning. and no S unless I engage capss lock. that's how I produced thiss big S, but only when I pushed the "s" key three times. I've been ussing keyboards since 1998, and not once until thi week have any of them given me the first lick of trouble. smdh.
^^I can't remember if this happened last fall, but it definitely happened last spring (2022). They released an update, then a week or 2 later pulled, then rereleased.
I never install an update right after it comes out. If I remember, I'll download it, but then sit on it for a few weeks or a month before actually applying.

For the folks trying and failing for 22+ Stingers. This is probably the cause although it doesn't say if it's down UNTIL June 4th, or if the downtime is only supposed to be ON/Around June 4th:
Also currently the 22+ aren't listed, possibly because of the downtime.
I just did the update yesterday. It took forever to download it, copy it to a USB drive, and then update my Stinger. It was worth it though in my opinion. I was missing some options in the setup that are now back(like ACC setup options). Also it fixed my issue with Android Auto. I just got the Stinger last week so I wonder if it was even had the right software update on it when I got it?
