Spring 2023 Navigation Update (New Features!)

Hey People

Just had a quick chat with a customer support person on the EU Nav Update Website. I asked her if we will receive any updates soon and she confirmed to me that there is currently a new FW in testing and it will release this spring. Apparently there are new feautures. Unfortunately she couldnt tell me what exactly. But be excited for something new then! I posted the chat as photo attachments. Her name is censored as im not sure if she officially should have told me and i dont want her to get into trouble.
I heard the US Market already received an update a few days ago but it was just a map update and EV Charging Stations embedded in the Map.

What do you think/hope they will add?

mehhh, i saw that on the us website. why would we even care about ev stations lol. i'll hope there will be more to it!

Was there any parity to features in your region vs US in last year's updates?

I don't care about EV's period, so to me this is a useless update, less the new mapdata.

yea... i'm guessing this will be a "light" update for the rest of us with older models... which is ok... they've done some pretty major updates the past couple times so.. i'm just happy they are keeping their word and doing 2 updates a year for free!

can't tell you, i just got the car 2 months ago and updates to the new ui a couple of weeks back.

Sadly I think the EU version keeps getting worse and worse. And I guess it's mostly because they keep adding useless features like ev charging stations for a gasoline car. Yes, yes, I know it's the same UI for all kias.
I hope, at the very least, they don't break something... again.

the 2019 premium we have still displays the original navigation version that the original owner got brand new. I have downloaded the current version but haven't updated the premium yet. and truthfully, I am nervous to do it with this kind of talk going on. if I could update to the same version I have in my 2018 gt1, which is a year old, I'd do it in a flash, or rather sd card, hah hah. that version is the 'purple' one with the 'milk' and mocha' display options, and the all-but-invisible scrolling button in the media display, which is annoying but no deal breaker to make me try an updated version at this point. too many users are complaining about updates since a year ago. it works fine for me. but, of course, the one thing to make me bit the bullet and update is the latest maps.

i've done every update on my 2020.. never had an issue.

Did it recently. No major issues. Showing the weather on the "home" screen was cool. Adding/changing the sound of nature okay. Why not bring back the nixie tube radio display?

Will try to get a photo when I can, but it's basically in the dimmed out screen on the 2022+ models, where the right 1/3 is a small gps map. The weather is right above that map.

*EDIT* keep in mind my Stinger is Canadian vintage as well as the update, so it might not pertain to US models. I'll still get the photo when I can.

On USA site, I saw that April 2023 Update
Display Audio Gen2V with wireless Phone Projection - do this mean that for Android Auto and AppleCar - can connect to car without cable?
