What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

I cannot see any plausible reason why these 20x8.5 and 20x9.5's Simmon's look alikes from Forge Auto wont fit on my Stinger, especially with only 275's on the rear ?
So i will be buying another set of Black ones in a B-series Falcon offset and bolting them onto my Stinger next week :D

I just did my first (ever) oil change.
My Stinger is now out of warranty (passed 150k km) so I decided to start changing the oil and the filters myself.
Was an easy enough job. Used the tutorial here: https://www.kstinger.com/engine_oil_and_filter-343.html
I chose to go for a Valvoline oil and OEM filters (from the dealer).
So far it seems I didn't break anything :D

how often are you going to change the oil? synthetic should last a lot longer than 6,000 miles.
is that lift in your garage? there is no way that I would go through changing oil unless I could get the car in the air.

@Snicklefritz no, it’s in a self-service shop. You pay 15€/h and have acces to a lift and all necessary tools. Or, if you get a subscription it can be as low as 8€/h.

During the warranty period I changed it every 10k km, at the dealership.
Now I plan to do it myself every 7,5k km. That’s about 4700 miles.

oh yes, now I remember reading about those wrenching shops that provide everything you need. cool idea. but I have to say you are spoiling your car changing synthetic that often. if you are enjoying yourself doing it, that of course changes the entire argument.

Thing is there is a max interval of 6k miles for normal driving (in the manual).
And since mine is already high milage, I’m thinking it wouldn’t hurt to change it more often.
Synthetic is the only oil recommended for the EU-spec 2.0 because it gas GPFs (gasoline particulate filters). A pack of 6 liter of Valvoline is 70€ and the filter is 7€. I think it’s worth it.

Had a rare moment of non-rainy weather pre-June here in the PacNW, so I have her a bath and a wax...

I probably should have waited for the golden or blue hour, but knowing my luck a bird would've baptized her so I did the shoot right after the wash/wax.

Looks great but I have to ask, what model Mach-E and how does it compare against your Stinger?
The electric pony is my wife's. It's a 2022 Mach E select. AWD.

Personally, I am not not have ever been a fan of SUV's, so understand that's where I am coming from.

The pros are that the Bluecruise compares to the Stinger's HDA like a water tower compared to a toilet cistern. It has true hands-free driving and the smart cruise control allows you to actually set a speed above the limit and follow the limit. Firmware updates are OTA, the information screen is really refined and it has wireless carplay/Android Auto out of the box. It does have a lot of low end grunt, but top end is lacking. It is very quiet in the interior. It handles very well in inclement weather. Hers, unless mine, has a sunglass holder. Lots of interior room. The "frunk" (front trunk) is a nice feature, they built it so it cold hold ice and beverages.

Cons are that it is very top-heavy. Body roll is bad. Even the battery low in the frame doesn't help much; you know you're driving an SUV, not a GT liftback. Hers didn't come with a sunroof or ventilated seats. Range is about 200 miles, and flat-to-85% on a quick charger is about 50 minutes (not a roadtrip vehicle).

For her specific vehicle on cons are that she has to bring it in: rear window is leaking and she might have a dying door sensor. Should be covered under warranty.

Overall, I think it's a nice vehicle and Ford did position it well enough to complete with Teslas, but it's not my cup O tea. Great commuter/grocery getter off that's what you're looking for.

Yea definitely not a road trip ride. 200 miles is nothing, especially for those that commute a little bit.

Yeah. Her commute is nothing so it's really easy for her get to where she/we need to go around town and then trickle-charge it. Anything more than 40 miles there and back, we take my Stinger... Not that I complain...

Car looks great but IMO that front plate needs to be about half the height. Looks like a billboard.

When you say "the smart cruise control allows you to actually set a speed above the limit and follow the limit" do you mean that if you set the cruise to 5 mph over the limit (75 in a 70), it will automatically change up or down while keeping the 5 mph over as the posted limit changes? If so, I'd love to have that feature.

Can't do anything about it...have to have both front and back plates and that is the standard US plate size. I wish we'd run back plate only like some states.

Yes. If she sets it to 60mph in a 55mph, amd the speed limit increases to 65mph, it adjusts to 70mph.

I'd love that feature, too.

Thanks for the response. That would be a great feature.

Did they start putting the Kia badge back on the rear hatch now? Say a newer Scorpion this morning that had the newer Kia on the rear just like yours does. I can't see people removing the large Stinger script and replacing it with the new Kia badge. Although it didn't look half bad on that Scorpion.
