Can you advise where I can find a online source to find a maintenance suggestion. I was seeing if there was anything online that shows what to get done at what mileage

Thank you

The manual suggests changing the oil every 6000 miles for regular use and every 3000 miles for severe driving conditions on the 3.3t GT models. Severe driving conditions would be frequent spirited driving and driving with a tune, so I do every 3000 for example.

Lazy guy here who is pretending he doesn't know how to search the forum - what oil is best for a modded Stinger (see my sig)?

I think 5W-30 would be fine.

This should be merged with the oil thread.

Hope you guys can help. I am only putting on about 7500km per year on the 2022 stinger but I have stuck with getting the oil changes every 6 months. So far I have done 3 oil changes and will probably never hit the mileage amounts so instead following manual based on time.
Is there anything major I should be concerned with if I just go by time since mileage will never be achieved.
I ask because dealer said for my 2 year checkup it will be around $900 and I can't find anything in manual that says it should cost this much. They mentioned transmission fluid, but that is at 48 months / 96000km.
I thought this dealership was pretty honest until they mentioned this when I had my 3rd oil change.

Any advice would be welcomed. The dealership is Longman's Kia in Markham, ON.

Just follow the intervals in the manual. The dealer will try to increase revenue as much as they can.
I used to know a service writer for an Audi dealership and they got commission on every service they write, so it is in their best interests to pad the work as much as possible.

yeah, you are being taken 'every two years', go on. at least my two big services were at 30,000 and 60,000. and the last one was over a thousand bucks. I have reassessed my opinion of 'my' dealer since that, because the 30,000 big one was over $700 and I thought it was way high already. Even with the costs of everything going up I think that a 30,000 miles service over a thousand dollars is ridiculous.

What did your dealer do that cost over $1000? Were there time based services in there too? I just went through my 36k service, and haven't spent more than $400 in any one service.

Yes what exactly did your dealer do for your 30K mile service that costs so much? You would think that the service would be free. Damn.

yeah, give or take a couple of thousand miles - for instance the owners manual service schedule doesn't do precisely 30,000 miles intervals for 'the big one' that covers the entire car. I don't know what all they did as they went through the entire car but that's because Ima still in a state of shock. the itemized ticket isn't all that helpful because it is written in 'greek', and Ima not a geek. that's a pun. at 30,000 miles intervals, as the video guy said briefly, they do the whole inspection and replacement thing and 'it can get expensive', he was giving fair warning. but a thousand bucks, even $700, seems like a lot if they are not actually replacing all fluids and filters, etc. and so forth. even with all that replaced it still seems very high to me. but I guess the stinger is more expensive to maintain than a forte or soul.

If you have the itemized invoice
Some of the members here will be able to translate the "greek" into plain english, so you will get a better understanding whats what.

already did that. there was no consensus as to whether I was being taken or not, based on the verbiage on the invoice. But the consensus was that they are charging top dollar, which is not the same thing as being taken. the service is good, really good in fact. the entire establishment oozes cleanliness and detail. which perversely works on my wife the opposite way, she says things like, 'with that fancy waiting room and all those free amenities, you know that you could get this work done for less money somewhere else.' Etc.

I just found this on an old thread from 2018 in this forum if it helps!!

Just chatted with service advisor at Kia Dealership and he told me the Stinger GT Limited is good for it's servicing between 6000-8000 km. He said that the interval servicing includes all the lower services, so service interval 2 includes 1 and interval 3 includes 1 and 2 and interval 4 includes 1, 2 and 3, which is why the price increases. The interval prices that the Canadian Kia Dealerships have don't include the cost of synthetic oil, so he said to add about $30 to the price of the posted prices. He said they have yet to be given a specific Stinger service pricing list so they use the basic and then add $ according to the specific Stinger needs, which is basically synthetic oil.
Service 1 is $75 - Stinger $105
Service two is $239 - Stinger $269
Service three is $379 - Stinger $409
Service four is $639 - Stinger $669  - This major service happens at 48000km
I asked him about warranty issues if we do our own work on the car and he said as long we keep the receipts for all the work done, and as long as we are following the interval guidelines, everything is good and approved by Kia; however, a Kia OEM oil filter is needed when changing the oil.

^^^yes, that follows this picture of the service schedule in canookland. this is more graphic than that service schedule in the usa manual. clearly, prices have gone up, at least in the us of a.
Kia service intervals.webp

Everything said there applies to that 1 specific dealer.

Not all Canadian Kia dealers.
Service 1 or 2 or whatever dealer specific nomenclature they decided on , is strictly dealer specific.

You are definately NOT required to only use Kia branded oil filters in order to maintain your OEM warranty, confirmed with Kia Canada .
