How secure are those roof cargo boxes from theft? Any noticeable decrease in mileage?
Sooo, how many headers have you taken on the bars? Yours dont seem to stick out too bad so thats a plus. I had to cut mine down, couldn't deal with it.Though I went Thule, I was heavily inspired but this thread in my purchase a roof box, so figured I’d share some photos.
I cut mine down too. The 60in was way too long. Unfortunately the markings on the bars are useless now.Sooo, how many headers have you taken on the bars? Yours dont seem to stick out too bad so thats a plus. I had to cut mine down, couldn't deal with it.

You can get locks, but if someone wants something bad enough they'll take it.How secure are those roof cargo boxes from theft? Any noticeable decrease in mileage?
I left about a .25" past the foot on mine. I even sucked it up and left them on the car when i did it, box too. Really just wanted a cleaner look in my eyes.I cut mine down too. The 60in was way too long. Unfortunately the markings on the bars are useless now.
Actually, I don't think they are that secure, I believe Thule only has a few different keys in all their equipment, meaning if I lose the key I can reorder one without requiring a locksmith, so anyone can do that. For me it's not a big deal because I usually just use it to store my snowboard and gear on my way to/from the mountain, so it's never unattended for a long period of time with anything of value in there. TLDR; I wouldn't leave anything valuable in there. How secure are those roof cargo boxes from theft? Any noticeable decrease in mileage?
Funny you ask, I've not taken any, I didn't think it stuck out too much, until a friend was putting something in there back seat and BOOM, she hit her head so hard it shook the car.Sooo, how many headers have you taken on the bars?
