Greetings Friends, 3 weeks ago I my car Stinger GT2 10k miles started Misfiring on Cyl 2 & 6. When i turn off the car & back on its goes away until WOT then the car bogs and has major power loss & hesitation. CEL on. Went to Kia service they had the car for 1 week and got back to me saying they couldn't duplicate the issue. I picked up the car and in 5 MIN I duplicated the issue. Took the car back immediately service advisor felt the car shaking and sputtering. 1 week later (Today) told me they couldn't duplicate the issue again. I'm extremely frustrated any advice on how to proceed?

Have them as a passenger and you drive your car.

That’s a good suggestion, with one addition. When the tech is riding with you, he/she should have the Kia diagnostic tool connected to the OBD port so that they can look at what is happening when the misfire(s) occur.

For a competent shop, this would be normal diagnostic procedure!

The Kia techs I’ve dealt with have a Bluetooth connection and tablet to make the job even easier.

'competent shop' is the focus here. get somebody else. for these morons to pull the same schtick twice and cost you two weeks of your life is inexcusable.

almost certain that you will find that you have bad coil packs, not just cracked plugs. once you replace the coil packs you should be good until the next one goes, which can be anywhere from this afternoon to over a year or years.

Its almost always a faulty spark plug or coil for cases like this.

What year? The 2022+ models have a tendency to overboost, which puts the car in limp mode until you shut off and restart.
Kia has been avoiding the issue it seems. Keep on them until it is resolved.

2023. The think is they reset adaptive values & i also unplugged battery CEL goes away but when you WOT you feel major power loss! CEL says ignition issues on 2 & 6 but they wont check spark plugs or coil because there stupid computer won't find fault while its ideling

Are you close to a different dealer?

Update: Now on my 5th trip to dealer the engine misfire is still undiagnosed. Now have legal counsel and moving forward with Lemon law. I will never again buy another HKG product. Straight garbage

Wow. Your dealership sucks.

the cars are very, very good. the dealership experience you have described is surely garbage.

change plugs and coils. Properly gap the plugs. That’ll solve it.

I Can understand changing the plugs but at 10K miles changing coil packs WTF??? can't i just do plugs?
you can have each coil pack inspected for corrosion / failure. that would be cheaper Ima sure. just replace any bad ones.
