Hi to all. Speaking instead of 6-7 of people that I know. I got Stinger 2020.So let me start with not having SD slot at all. Nothing at the button of hazards, so obiously cant update software with SD whike Kia says to use SD. So tried with USB per Kia and didn't work out (tried it with 32 and 64gb), my car clearly reads those flashes since it plays little new sounds of Kia on flash drive, but whenever I try to update the software , car says that it cabt find the update. My dealership is trash, so plz don't advise to visit them. Car is from USA but I live abroad, there is no way car knows that it's not in the US, plz don't tell me that thats the case as dealership did. Please help with your ideas

I updated my ‘23 stinger this weekend. Followed the instructions from the navigation update downloader and watched a few helpful YT vids. Make sure you’re copy pasting all the files to the card, bluetooth is turned off and car is running. Waited an hour and 10mins for mine to finish. If all else fails maybe a new se card will solve the issue. Best of luck!

as far as I know yes, but in YT vids it says you can update it with flash drive. The point is that I'm trying to update my multimedia, not the nav , I dont even need it, just the look of multimedia

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
the thing is that I don't have SD card slot as I mentioned, so thenonly way is flash drive, and the car doenst revognize software on it

What software version is installed in the car already? Are you connecting the flash drive to the labeled USB port? The other one is for charging only.

Its the base software for 2020 Stingers. I'm connecting flash drive theough UDB port (same port that we use for carplay)

I'm assuming that the version of the software you're trying to upgrade to is newer that what is currently on your system. You have verified that your USB port works as it is being used for CarPlay. Have you gone through all of the instructions in order from the Kia Update page? Are you going through the car's setup menu to update the firmware? Has the software been successfully loaded onto a flash drive?

If you're doing all of these things in the correct sequence and still having problems, then you may need to visit the dealership.

Car clearly sees my flash drive, it plays new sounds. The system is black/white when newer system is purple one, os its not newer I assume. Even though car is from US, but I'm not in the US.My dealership is trash, they didn't even know there is a way for update. I called customer service of Kia for 3 days and no one picks up a phone. Some say it might be the case that I'm downloading the USA version, but how does my car know in which country he currently is ?

Last thing I can suggest is to verify you're downloading the infotainment update and not the navigation map update. If you're not in the US, then your computer's IP address may default to a non-US software installer that you're downloading. You could try a VPN routed through a US address.

Good luck

would you be able to tell me how can I verify to be sure its not map update but infotainment update ?

Link looks like for audio update. Tbh, I only need multimedia interface update, dont really care about navi since my car doesn't have it. Truly appreciate if you can help me to update my interface

right , the non nav units only get display audio updates. And doesn't look like the stinger is listed in the list.. :(

YT says if you dont have SD slot use USB, but Kia website clearly asks for SD only, USB is for newer models

yes, but the older display audio units are update via usb if there is an update.

My 2018 GT2 has the navigation maps on an SD card. Because the install instructions aren't the clearest, I tried and was able to update the infotainment (radio) firmware by using a USB stick. It did not update my Nav firmware. I realized then that all I needed to do was to download the updates onto the Nav SD card.

Notice | Official Kia Navigation Update Website is the US link for the Display Audio Software Update, but the 2020 Stinger isn't listed for Gen2 or Gen1.

Have you checked that the USB drive is formatted as FAT32 and not NTFS?
