I’m looking to beef my car up, so far I want to go with these mods.
aFe intakes, Hks plugs, Mishimoto intercooler, Velossa tech snorkels, bms differential brace, and lap3 stage 2.5 ecu tune.

I was originally planning to run WMI with the lap3 ecu, however I was talking to someone online and he mentioned I could go with CPI over WMI. I know next to nothing about CPI and would like to know the pros and cons vs WMI. Anything you guys could tell me about CPI period would help tons. Thanks in advance

Your tune already has the most aggressive ignition timing in among all the tunes available so I doubt you could get any power gain from swapping to CPI. It’s mostly a Lozic and Lap3 stage1.5 thing—CPI can trigger the adaptive value to push more timing, which shouldn’t apply to stage 2.5 since the higher ignition timing is there no matter what. If E85 is available at your location just start with E30 mix first and see how much more you can dump to your tank. I’ve seen as much as E60 with lap3 tune and that’s higher than lots of CPI users.

Do you think I should go with wmi or cpi though? Wmi will keep my temps cooler and prevent knocking, and as far as I know cpi won’t make a difference when it comes to that. Also how much maintenance is required for wmi vs cpi?

I’d prefer do some E mix first and keep WMI. You might have ability to run more E right now than lots of CPI guys thanks to Lap3. If running full e85 8/ your goal then CPI might help you to achieve that. Having both is possible but you need a way smaller nozzle for WMI and it has to be standalone systems like Snow, APT and Aquamist, since you need JB4 to control CPI.

so its normal for lap3 1.5 to have high ignition timing? Im on meth and be getting values between 3.0-6.0 on occasion but the rest be low 0.X-2.X

Are you talking about timing pull? You might want a bigger nozzle if you see the pull as high as 3 regularly. I’m talking about actual timing advance, ECU can’t really adapt WMI and push more ignition timing advance like CPI. But once you killed timing pull with WMI and dump more E in your tank, you’ll see your ignition timing curve shifts up. It’s not a problem for lap3 stage2.5 cuz the high ignition timing is offered regardless.

I guess, im talking about the ign values between 2 and 6 on the jb4 logs.

As soon as I move to a E85 available town I’ll do CPI right away. That’s the exact reason why I have standalone WMI despite I have JB4. I want both like you haha.

May I have a screenshot of your log with just boost rpm ign1-6 and trim? Let’s see if bigger nozzle is all that you need.

I switch back and forth depending on availability of E85. I can't give up a log though. Only Terry and Nate from Sxth get to analyze. Too many pundits and arm chair racers that think they know what they are looking at. If you wanted to do something similar, I have a video showing how I moved my meth tank to my washer tank and cleaned up my trunk so a spare fits back in it.
---- edit---- if you want me to look at one of your logs I'd be glad to.

I’m waiting for your spacer for direct port injection haha.

Do I still need EWG wires if I have CPI installed? I read somewhere CPI system alone prevents overboosting but I’m skeptical and still learning.

I just purchased CPI + FMIC + ELK1 Lite BEF to go along with my JB4 and Tork TCU. I’m planning to get catted DPs when I have funds again (wife took away my spending fun money again). I have E85 stations all around me and planning to run E45-E60 when I get this setup done later this summer. I just never want to deal with or have to think about overboost if I can, but also don’t want to overdue it if I can save time and return unnecessary items like EWG wires and get some money back so the wifey is semi happy again.

Your back-end flash, tune, should prevent over boost. It's recommended you do not run those wires with a tune, it will fight against the programmed ECU. The fall-back safety is the over boost protection built into the JB app.

I always appreciate your input @AWDGT2 ! Ganna be excited to try keeping up with the big boys now. kinda wish I waited on the flash TCU coming out, but happy with the Lozic TCU!
