I maybe late but the latest Android Auto update allows for full screen usage. Also I'm using the AAWireless adapter.

Is this the scaled up version or proper resolution?

its not so much the AA update, but the server-side enabled Coolwalk features. the latest AA update won't get you Coolwalk until they enable it on Google's end.

i like the larger album art, but they ruin it with a weird colored overlay so you can barely see the album art

What player app do you use? I can clearly see the album art with PowerAmp.

i use Poweramp. you may not have Coolwalk enabled ... it casts a colored filter over the album art, like pic below (not my photo). i'd really prefer just nice larger hi-res album art.

Ah I see. The split screens can be switched. If you have the large screen displaying your music player, the overlay will be toned down. Unfortunately, the album art will still be relatively small. The two pictures below are from my car.

yeah, i leave maps on the larger display, and Poweramp on the smaller side card. why they gotta cover up the album art with the goofy colored filter????

Lol, I agree

Full screen AA also requires the most recent infotainment update from Kia, right? I have the Coolwalk update but it still sits in split screen.

There is a phone projection option within the car's infotainment, it should say "enable split screen" or something like that. I turned that off. On your phone, go to the Andriod Auto dev settings and select the highest video resolution available.

Anyone tried this with a car with a larger screen? I have a 2022 GT2 and no matter what settings I try I still get a block on the right that says "Andoid Auto" and can't get a completely full screen.

My car is 2022 GT2 RWD. Have you tried this below?

In addition to the Android Auto split screen setting, old versions of the infotainment software don't allow full screen AA. I updated yesterday from the original version shipped with the car (CK_PE.USA.S5W_M.V001.001.201218) to the newest available (CKPE.USA.S5W_MVO09.001.230203), and now I've got that sweet, sweet fullscreen AA.

^^Did this just roll out - the 230203 version?

Edit. Never mind, it appears to be showing that date for the oct 2022 update.. Very strange. Why have a 23xxxx build (2023) for an Oct 2022 release...

I'm going to pull the update to see what's inside.

First had to battle this from my firewall

1) Another 40GB update!

2) Some of the archive files inside have a 2/3/2023 date. (from the 10-2022 update)

3) Clear as mud.

Is this the update that got pulled and reintroduced? Could have been updated to patch an issue without considering it a new version. Not sure about the timeline on that, but I also don't think it took from Oct 2022 to Feb 2023 for that. But could still be a minor update.

It'd be interesting to see if someone had the "original" Oct 2022 update. It obviously wouldn't have a 2023-02-03 date.

Agreed. Some sort of incremental update perhaps. I never did grab that oct update when it was released. I don't recall if it was pulled then rereleased. That was indeed the case with the spring 2022 update.
