I recently found out the stinger I bought is electronically limited to 149mph. I want to bypass this as I have tires rated for 180+ but the only option I’ve found is the Tork back end flash tune. Id like to put a jb4 on my stinger after I get around this limiter and I was wondering if stacking them is possible and also if I have any other options when it comes to changing the ecu speed limiter?

Well, if you are getting an ECU tune, then you don't need the jb4 for tuning, however a lot of people start with a jb4 to get into the tuning game, and then move on to an ECU tune and keep the jb4 for logging or possibly WMI control. Generally, when doing this, you want the jb4 to stay out of the way. There is info on the n54 tech forums about this.
If you are simply removing the speed limiter, and not actually tuning for performance, depending on how much they charge, sounds like more expense.

Better off using a BMS back end flash map loaded via the sxth at home flasher with your JB4.

The details depends on the flash map. With lap3 maps we're seeing a lot of JB4 customers dialing down boost since they tend to run really aggressive on timing and have lots of corrections. With Tork we see JB4 customers using the JB4 EWG connections to fix the poor boost control.

As I mentioned above best option is to add in our back end flash map which we can custom tune to your specific situation pretty easily, and that lets you retain all the nice features of the JB4 for logging, safety, on the fly map switching, boost by gear, etc.

So the jb4 has a back end flash map of its own? I didn’t know about this. How exactly do I go about doing that?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Details are in the link above.

How do these back end flash tunes work versus something like a full ecu tune? Are they considered inferior to those or equal? Is it just a matter of fewer tables being manipulated for power gains? I’ve seen the back end flash offerings on several of the different tuners (lap3, Tork, Burger) sites, but I don’t think I’ve seen a lot of people utilize them so am not too familiar with what they exactly do compared to a full ecu tune.

Our back end flash replaces your full ECU tune and is specifically designed to work with the JB4 providing the best of both worlds. Details in the link.

Ok that sums it up pretty well that it can act as a replacement for full ecu tune. Thanks.
