How the heck to you change the headlight bulb in this thing? Do I really have to pull the front bumper off? Seems a little complicated just to change a headlight bulb.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

i'm guessing halogen headlamps... looks like for the low/high bulb, there is an access port through the wheel well, (like our z4) the turn signal bulbs look like the strut bar and air box needs to be removed... fun.

I’m stuck on taking off the wheel housing cover . I took off the service clip but can’t seem to get the screws out underneath. The Kia manual only shows to take off the service clip do I pray out the bottom pieces as well ?

I just purchased a set of bulbs to swap. How hard was it to do? I wanna know if it worth doing on your own or set up am appointment with kia mechanics

It's a bit of a pain. There is a flap on the front wheel well liner that you have to open to get access to the back of the headlights. Even then, it's a real tight squeeze, but it's possible to do. Works best if you remove the front wheel, but you can also just crank the steering wheel all the way to one end to get better access.

Realistically, if you need to do both sides, it's almost worth it to removed the front bumper cover to get access to the headlights mounting bolts. Taking off the headlight assembly makes it a whole lot easier. I've done it enough times, it's pretty quick for me. That's what I did when I did the HID xenon bulb retrofit.

If there was a tutorial on how to remove the front bumper cover to get access to the Headlights, I might consider it. I'm not too confident dismantling the whole front bumper

I can confirm- the flap in the wheel well is the easiest and most time efficient way to change the bulbs.

1: crank wheels to the extreme right or left to expose the flap.
2: remove push pin with flathead screwdriver or pry tool.
3 pull flap all the way down by prying on the existing indent. Note: flap will fold down completely flat don’t be afraid of breaking the flap it will fold.
4: twist dust cap counter clockwise until full stop. It will be very resistant because of the rubber O-Ring. Wiggle off with screwdriver.
5: the bulb is right behind the dust cap remove the connector and twist bulb “COUNTER CLOCKWISE” to loosen from the three prong retaining ring and gently pull bulb out.

Replace with new bulb and repeat steps in reverse.

Just replaced mine with Lasfit LED 9005 bulbs and am not disappointed.
