I got my car from dealer with some sweet smelling windshield washer fluid. I like that smell; Anyone have the same and where do you purchase this? I bought car out of state so I can't exactly drive to the dealer and pick some up.

Hmmm... Just a guess, but seeing as how you're in NY, it could just be a "winter formula" washer fluid, which may have some antifreeze type chemical that could smell sweet. Otherwise, idk.

BRB - gotta start my new scented windshield washer fluid business. 34 flavors!

LOL you actually might be on to something there.

The factory stuff that I have seems to be pretty nice it actually looks like it actually has some cleaning liquid in it as it suds just a little and seems to clean well but never noticed any smell from it.

The scent is the GREEN Palmolive Ultra Strength dish soap. We discovered this accidentally while doing the dishes and realized that THIS was the scent (which, btw, is awesome for deodorizing the car after driving past chicken farms during a heat wave...GAG)!

Here's the recipe:
Clean and empty gallon jug
1 gallon water
1 tbs. dish soap
½ cup non-sudsing ammonia or vinegar
Blue food coloring

Fill the gallon container with water and mix in the dish soap, ammonia (or vinegar), and a few drops of the blue food coloring. Put the cap on the jug and gently swirl it or tip it upside down a couple times to mix the ingredients together. You can then pour the mixture into its designated spot in your car.

This homemade wiper fluid should almost all year round, but if the temperature ever drops below freezing, add isopropyl alcohol to the mixture to ensure that it won’t freeze on your windshield when you try to use it. You can always test it to see if it will freeze by leaving it outside overnight.

This is the stupidest way to save $3. Just go buy washer fluid. Do not put this Five Minute Crafts cocktail of house cleaner in your car or you will regret it.

No way bruh. My pappy tought me to take cornbread mix, some butter, blend it. Dump it in the reservoir, And then every summer the smell is delicious.

I'm just going to use a scented cabin air filter I'll stick to regular washer fluid

Also agree not to put 5-minute crafts in your car. lol. Especially dishsoap, it will strip your wax.

I've posted this before, but I'll post it again..... OEM doesnt ship washer fluid, the dealer puts it in at pre-delivery inspection... at least this is what my dealer told me.

I specifically asked if it shipped with washer fluid, or if they put it in, this was their response;
The dealership installs the washer fluid. We buy it in an industrial container. It's kind of orange in colour. On the product, it says "15204 Windshield Washer Fluid" by UltraClear.

I wanted more because it smells fantastic. Unfortunately they get it from a bulk company in Ontario that doesn't sell to consumers.

If you want a great smell, I had a friend that used to put a little aftershave, cologne in his wiper fluid....I never have....

100% and if the temp drops below freezing I wouldnt be worried about it freezing on your windows as much as freezing in your lines and tank and expanding and cracking those components.

covid knocked my already mediocre smeller down about half, so, I don't smell washer fluid at all anyway. if I open it and stick my nose in there I can smell something.

I would be concerned about spraying alcohol on my paint which is part of aftershave.
Can't be good for the wax finish

I've had this question since 2019 still unanswered!

Purchased new in Australia and the washer fluid had a suave male cologne scent to it.
