3.3TT '22 Exhaust Questions?

Got some video of mine with the ARK secondary DPs! Fitment to the ARK DPs is not perfect, with one side connected, the other sides holes were about 1/4" off. Luckily I was able to get it to fit. It is pretty loud in the cabin, especially around 2000 RPM. Gonna look into getting some tips to put on. Also wasn't expecting the exhaust to burble like it does when slowing down. My tune doesn't have exhaust tuning done.

I'm digging the burbles. Never really liked the pops and bangs, just not for me.

This is AWESOME, thank you for such an in-depth video.

Can we use this on our site to show others the differences in sound with this exhaust installed?

Sure can!! Just remember, this is with the ARK secondaries.

that sounds awesome! so right now i can faintly hear some burbles and love that sound, you think if i do the mid pipes they would be more aggresive? beautiful looking car to bro! congrats.
Yeah bro that's what I'd like. How is the drone, though? I've read multiple times that doing a muffler delete makes unbearable drone.
Hey guys, this is not my car - I apologize for the confusion, it was not my intent.

I found the video on YouTube and instantly loved the sound, and why I shared it here.

Awesome video buddy! That’s what I was so surprised about, was the burbles! I’ going to order the midpipes today and hopefully will get better burbles and maybe a little bump in hp since the cat back is on now. Just curious where ya at in Illinois?

NW suburbs, Elgin area.

I advise caution getting the midpipes. The drone is quite bad. I got a decibel meter and in comfort it's 86dB and sport it's 89dB around 2000 rpm. This was while holding the decibel meter by my head so it's also the dB your ears will hear. It has been unpleasant driving since I put the exhaust on lol

Looks like the 2nd batch is starting to ship out, according to FedEx mine should be here Saturday. I'll see if I can get it installed and take some videos, and get some shots of how the tips align.

Have you tried a resonator and/or different tips? Apologies if you had already stated and I overlooked it.

I've got some resonators recommend by MBRP on the way as well as tips. MBRP recommends I install the resonators between the x-pipe and the mufflers.
I just got a pair of these inserts below to try today.Screenshot_20221010_051401.webp

Interesting. I'm not sure how they wouldn't restrict power as they claim, as it would certainly appear to be a impedance on the flow of the exhaust. That said, I'm far from an expert and have never used one of those products before.

What tips did you pull the trigger on?

I am not sure either, all I know is they've got good reviews. Looking to only add them after the mufflers amd leave the pipe with the valve free flowing.

Just some cheap ones I saw on Amazon.Screenshot_20221014-133617_Amazon Shopping.jpg

Are those tips an oval outlet? If not, the fitment might be weird.

I’m about to install my MBRP exhaust. Yesterday I measured the exhaust myself just to make sure I order the right size for my 22.

MBRP exhaust 2.5inch diameter pipe…63mm
Oval Width: 135mm
Oval Height: 114mm

might be off a mm small since I was eyeballing a tape measure, but this assures it will fit. So a 101mm outlet would leave roughly 1/4in on top and bottom.

I have yet to find any quality oval tips. So I can understand folks just putting in round to help with drone.

I have a couple sets of oval tips I got off AliExpress, I may have ordered the inlet at too small a size (54mm) as to where I would probably be fitting it to the inside of the pipe and welding it there, I'll have to see. The tips don't seem particularly excellent in quality, but they will more than likely look substantially better than the stock, virtually nonexistent, tips.

Just installed my exhaust today and let me tell you it's loud without the midpipes. Definitely going to have to look at options to curb the drone as well.
