3.3TT '22 Exhaust Questions?

I loved this car from day one, I’ve been adding mods since I bought it and have been blown away by how the car reacts to the mods, BUT it lacked one major part, the exhaust! I am so happy with the way this exhaust sounds in comfort and in sport! And a huge Thank You to the K8 Stinger Store! Receive them early and again you won’t be disappointed! Haven’t noticed any drone yet but I’m writing this review 20 mins after having it installed. I’ll get back to this after a few days of driving. I’ll post some vids of the exhaust as soon as I get some but as I’ve found out, videos don’t do the exhaust any Justice. You even get a subtle burble when downshifting. Just very happy so sorry for the long post!

This is great news, thanks. From what I've heard of the new MBRP system, I don't think it's for me. I really want a more aggressive and raspy sound. I think I'm one of the only people who likes the V6 rasp hahaha.

Not knocking those who bought MBRP though. It's definitely better than stock! And you may want a different sound than me.

It’s awesome the EVC exhaust is finally out for 22’s+. I have to agree with the above post, the MBRP does sound better than factory. I too want something more aggressive sounding. I’ll have to wait and hear from others opinions and hopefully sound clips on different brands. I just don’t want to shell out the $$$ and be disappointed. Can’t wait to hear more.
I think we should all wait to hear some in person or better online videos before making a judgment that it's not loud enough.

It's very hard to determine this off of the 1 or 2 videos they have released. I think in person and or when more people post up videos, some may think differently.

You're very welcome, and thank you, I would love to hear some videos of this bad boy, as you are most likely the 1st or one of the 1st in the world to have it installed on your Stinger.

So glad to hear that you are happy with the results so far, and look forward to hearing your videos! :)

Awesome bro thanks. I do have a question, how far does the exhaust extend into the stock tips? Does it extend as far as the stock exhaust?

I know a alot of previous aftermarket exhausts didn't have pipes that extended into the Stinger's stock tips. So the pipes would be just short of the tips, and thus cause some additional droning.

Glad to hear you're not encountering any droning but I'm still curious about the fitment with the stock tips. I dunno why so many aftermarket exhausts did not have suitable pipe lengths.

To add, exhausts often get louder as they break in over 30 days or so. Drone could possibly get worse.

Fingers crossed that there is little to no drone for this model though :)

My guess is because they weren't designed for the '22+. Until now, all aftermarket exhausts were all designed for the prior MY's.

Damn you! Lol I was hoping to be the first one to install it. Mine got delivered today and hopefully install it tonight. Do you have secondaries? If not, it'll be interesting to hear the difference between mine and yours.

I still do! It’s funny you said that because I was just looking to get the ark secondaries! But right now in sport it’s seriously loud! I really can’t imagine it louder and I’m no stranger to loud high hp cars. So please let me know how yours sounds!

They are in about 2" and the more I just drove the car in sport you do get a little drone but I think that’s me really looking for it and being picky, but I’m coming from Mustangs and never heard a stinger with any type of exhaust but I just wasn’t a fan of how the borla was just too high pitched sounding. Bottom line I don’t think anybody that gets this system would be upset.

Then check this out, skip to 1:38 - FYI, this is not my car:

Mine is on the way to be delivered tomorrow. I was wondering about the active exhaust electrical hookup. It is self explanatory? Plug n play? I was looking at the online instructions and it confused me a bit. But I know once it’s in hand it may make more sense. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks and congrats on getting it done. I too look forward to hearing a customer video. And if you still have a way to post a video/pictures of the active exhaust hookup that would be great.

I did the HKS spark plugs and the eibach sway bars the other day. My aFe intake arrives on Tuesday. The Mishi FMIC and VT snorkels are sitting patiently waiting to be installed later in October. So it’s like a continual Christmas at my house. I’m trying to figure out the Lozic order sheet now. I may have a stinger upgrade addiction problem….

Curious your thoughts on lowering as your next mod? I am at a similar point.

Just my opinion everyone is different:
As far as aesthetics go, I do think it looks better. The reduced wheel gap is sharp.

For practicality I don't see the need. At some point I’ll add the M&S front and side splitters. Lowering the car then brings into the possibility of hitting more curbs and parking issues. M&S ain’t cheap and I’ll be really pissed when (not if) I hit a curb, truck wheel remnants on the highway or a pothole that breaks one. I know myself and I’ll forget they’re there. Driving over anything on the road now becomes less of an option. The front end of my car is completely PPF to prevent rock damage. I’d then want to PPF the M&S parts which an expensive custom job. Once it’s lowered you’ll need an alignment because you’ve changed the geometry of the steering mechanisms. Personally I feel it will bring into play more long term issue. I like the ride quality as is with the new sway bars. I’ll spend money elsewhere.

I’m also 6ft2” and I don’t need to bend down any lower to get in the car. I hit my shoulder on the door frame enough already. :)

Just my 2 cents. The car will be quick enough when I’m done without screaming for attention from every Charger/Camaro/ etc. :)

My advice, do it on a lift lol just got done in about 2.5 hours with the rear on jack stands and it was not fun. As far as the valve, you remove the electric motor from the factory exhaust and bolt it onto the MBRP exhaust. There's an adapter that goes between the MBRP valve and the electric motor.

Ok everybody please excuse me I have never tried to upload a video to a forum, so I guess the only way was to upload it to YouTube. So it’s very basic but it’s in comfort and then I switch it over to sport, you will be able to tell the difference, just to help out with an audio clip, going to get better ones for you guys, please go easy on me.

Yeah bro that's what I'd like. How is the drone, though? I've read multiple times that doing a muffler delete makes unbearable drone.

I agree and 100% if you add Secondary Downpipes/Midpipes it will definitely be more aggressive. We have the JUN BL in stock now and will have the Ark Performance Downpipes back in stock next week finally! Reach out through email if you want to order either with a discount!
