Decrease in gas mileage

Can I ask you why you’d go back to stock if you could go back ?
Because it’s an endless rabbit hole of trying to eek the last ounce of performance from the car and in the end it will cost thousands and you’ll spend countless hours and the performance gain is not worth the effort. I did learn a lot about the car and mechanics, so that’s a positive takeaway. If you want greater performance, sell the Stinger and buy a used car with more power. Just my .02.

as i get older, i'm less about performance mods and more about practical/interior ones (wireless AA, wireless charger, etc.). i kinda cringe thinking about all the money i've spent in the past. my last car, the only actual "performance" mod i did was some dry drop-in air filters
:D
i might do one of the cheaper intakes on the Stinger, though - BMS or K&N. i'm not a fan of oiled filters, but i'm not spending another $100+ for intakes that come with dry filters.

I hear you. I’m 48 and still love the thrill of being thrown back into my seat and if I had the means I would get a high performance super car like a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Drove one around the track in Vegas and what a beast that corners on a dime. One can dream!

I’m in SoCal and have been driving city for the last year and a half. My ‘18 GT has always done great on highway when that was my commute. 24-26 average. Now my average is between 16-18 doing mostly city. So that sounds normal to me. A little over 50k miles.

Thanks. Better mileage now that I’m in normal.

Consider yourself lucky, I have a brand new GT2 and I am only getting like 13.5-14 in the city. The car is brand new so I am hoping that gets better while it breaks in

That’s low. Mods? Driving in Sport? Heavy foot?

No mods yet. Next week I get the intake from Injen and snorkels.
I have only been using sport. Going to fill up and run a tank in Comfort and see how it performs. I haven't necessarily been getting after it too much. But where I live is a lot of stop signs and stop and go. Was going to call dealer.

Yeah you'll definitely get worse gas mileage if you keep it in sport all of the time, especially since it changes the shift points to keep the RPM's up..which in turn uses more gas. I have a lot of stop and go here as well and usually keep it in comfort, eco, or smart while driving around and usually get around 18-19ish around town, unless I switch to sport which is when I can practically watch the gas needle drop.

Check this out. Drove from the Bay Area to Fernley, NV (30 miles past Reno) for my daughter’s softball tourney yesterday. 224 miles. Cruised in 8th gear between 1700-2300 rpms and got 29.5mpg. Drove in Comfort. Even better mpg on the return. 31.5. That’s about as good as it gets.

I actually drove through the mountains on comfort and eco and got 29-27 but it has lots of climbs.

If you have over 60k miles, consider proper manual cleaning of intake valves (not spraying ....... through intake crap). It might give you those 2-3mpg back.
