Fireworks shows around here: reports from people I know, of getting home at two o'clock in the morning, of sitting in traffic for five hours, etc. My wife and I went out in the Stinger, moonroof open to the new moon and neighborhood fireworks, the free kind. We parked over SE of the Oquirrh Mountain temple, across the Bungler Hwy, and walked into a vacant lot and stood there for c. half an hour, by ourselves, watching and listening to the free neighborhood displays, some of them rivaling the size of "real" fireworks shows in the parks: and man!, the volume of those neighborhood volleys was impressive, some people really love turning their dollars into fire light, smoke and BOOM!s Upper end neighborhoods shoot off the most and the biggest, of course. Anyway, no traffic, not even any people, where we stopped, it was quite dreamlike.
