Activating UVO

I got 2 months left in my UVO platinum trial (or whatever the high end package is called). I've held off activating it because I don't think I really need what it offers.

Should I activate it? Why?

Was thinking about that today... Would love to know what telemetry the car is broadcasting to the mothership even when unactivated.

Seriously though, if you don't get any value out of it, then ditch it. I resigned for Ultimate merely for the stolen vehicle recovery. The other perk at Ultimate is remote sending destinations which I rarely use. I use remote start constantly, but that is a pretty low tier.

You're paying an extra $200 a year for that plan or did they offer something better? I pay plenty for insurance as it is. If the car is stolen it's likely to be abused and then some. Hopefully totalled. Don't think I want it back, then.

It's tiered. I pay about $50 extra bucks a year for that. The minimum level I would pay for is Plus which is $149/y

I've been debating on whether or not I want to re-up in December when mine is up. I don't use it a whole lot but it would be nice to keep around for stolen vehicle recovery and the added bonus that my home automation system (Home Assistant) automatically locks my car doors at night if I forget.
