Getting the stock system off was a pain, the rear nuts back by the muffler were really gd stuck, I had a 3ft bar on them and it was still difficult. I dunno wtf. One of the studs started spinning in its place because of how much force was necessary to turn them… so I’m gunna have to cut that one. Just dropped the middle pipe and passenger muffler as one piece for the time being.
I guess the splines in the pipe went bye bye but I’ll confront that if I ever put the stock setup back on.
A few hours before, with multiple applications in those few hours... but they werent rusted or corroded or anything, they were nice and clean so I wasnt that worried about it. Actually, the really rusted, ugly nuts on the front end at the converters had me way more worried and were actually not all that much effort lol.
Anyways, I took the driver muffler off, left the passenger muffler on, and just dropped the thing as one piece that way. It was heavy and awkward but doable. I'll just have to confront that spun stud if Im ever going to need to deal with it.
I ended up doing the wrap on the muffler outlets to close the gap on the stock tips... muffler wrap enough to fill the gap but not rub on the walls of the bumper cover, hose clamp on the back to tighten it down, and a saddle exhaust clamp butted up against it as backing, just snugged up enough to not move.
I cant comment on how much it did or didnt fix cause I never heard it without, but I can say that I have no drone as it is.
Thanks everyone (especially Buzzrush) everyone's been a huge help here so far.
Hi, read all 61 pages but might've missed it. Planning on installing some tips to eliminate some drone.
Just wondering a few things to make sure
How do you take off the OEM fake tips from the bumper?
and when trimming the OEM bumper it is alright for it to be touching the aftermarket tips as long as they are dual wall correct? Or should i play it safe and trim enough so that it doesn;t touch the exhaust tips at all.

Looked around and contemplated borla or mbrp for awhile but now I’m thinking of settling towards straight piping it from the primary’s. Shit will be raspy and rowdy but that’s my style

2 screws holding each fake tips. Exhaust would have to be dropped in order to reach them.
I went with oval tips. So no clue about how much to trim
IMO the Stinger looks better with oval tips. It fits with the curves of that booty.

I actually already have a muffler delete from a couple months ago. I had the shop line it up so it’s dual exit through the inner fake tip(s)
Not really sure how I should go about it now since the pipes aren’t centered. Thinking either redo the pipes or weld h tips at the end to connect to the after market tips.

Watch this video before attempting the diffuser removal. He also very clearly explains how it is much easier to drop the exhaust to access the tips than to remove the diffuser. Jeff explains both methods:
