Hey yall I have a 2022 gt line awd and I want more power. I'm going to take the dive and buy the jb4 but can you guys help me out a bit. I want to know exactly what I should buy on top of that. I see other cables and spark plugs that I can buy.

Can you guys tell me what I really need and what I can do without? I'm def a noob in this space and want to do this right. I'll buy whatever keeps my car in the best shape/gives me the best results. Any info please

Terry from BMS told me our 2.5T doesn’t need upgraded spark plugs for map 1(91 octane) and map 2(93 octane). If you plan on going beyond that I’d just reach out to him after you purchase it, he’s responds pretty quickly.

Alright sweet so spark plugs may not be needed. What about the cables and other adapters they sell ?
any best practices that I should be doing or purchasing ?

I got mine with the blue tooth adapter that lets you switch between maps from your phone. Otherwise that should be all you need. I’m not sure if they updated the website but they’ve added the retaining clips to it now so no need to worry about zip ties or other hacks to plug them in. Mine just came like 3 days ago, although I haven’t put it on yet.

Okay cool thanks for the reply. I'm debating between this or a pedal commander but I might just do both. Are you running a gt line too?

Yeah I am, the new one with the 2.5T. Heard the jb4 really transforms our car. I’ll probably get the pedal commander eventually too. I’d do jb4 first though if it’s one or the other.

Do your research but pedal commander does nothing for the actual performance of the vehicle. It solely changes the throttle response so you get more of a response from what you already have. The JB4 actually impacts the performance of the vehicle and increases it! So they are different tools entirely. You can get the JB4 to increase performance level and get pedal commander to even more increase the "butt dyno" factor!

yeah same here. I think im going to pull the trigger on the jb4 With the Bluetooth adapter. I heard there’s something else you can buy so that you dont leave a trail in there in case there’s an issue down the line. Gotta look into it

Do you think the only other thing I need for the jb4 is the Bluetooth cable? Any other cables or adapters or anything else with it? I want to leave no trail that it was there if I ever need to remove it.

JB4 with fuel wires. Bluetooth is for changes with your phone and convenience. If you do not have to change plugs to aftermarket or regap OEMs there will be almost no trace for warranty purposes. I do not advise the practice of modifying a vehicle and returning it to stock to avoid detection for warranty work or resale...but that is just me!

Yeah I don’t want to put it back to stock but in the event I may need to, id want to be as careful and clean as possible with the installation of these mods ya know.

Are there fuel wires available for the 2.5T? It looked like it was only available for the 3.3 and 2.0 engines.

I get what you are saying with this and can support that mentality: dont modify the engine, blow it up, and then be deceitful to get Kia to foot the bill.

On the other hand though, you got those service advisors that will try to use it as excuse for any failure. Oh your catch can caused the radiator leak, your jb4 caused the ac compressor to go out, etc, etc. At the end of the day, removing items to avoid the finger-pointing is much easier than having to fight your denied claim.

Get an extra fuse box cover and the fuel T harnesses, and then removal of the JB4 will be super easy and clean.
Takes 20-30 min to remove and most of that time is removing the plastic retainer clips and fishing the OBD2 wire through the firewall.

Yeah exactly. That happened to A buddy of mine. They gave him a hard time so I want to combat it as much as possible

I thought so. I may wait until I hear enough feedback about it. I've only had my gt line for 2 months so I'm still trying to put some miles on it before tuning it

Hello, did you already install it in your GT Line? I just bought a GT Line 2023 with the same engine and wanted to know if it's worth.
