Undercarriage protector???

i am still trying to figure out if anybody sells one :( stock or aftermarket.
I wound up having to buy it from a dealership in Miami and had it shipped to me. Was easy to replace but had to buy a bag of universal plastic rivet clips from amazon

Does anyone of you know if this circled “lip/flap” is part of the fender liner or a separate part altogether, I have to replace my fender liner and I want it to be a 1& Done job.

Fairly certain that vertical bit you circled is part of the fender liner that extends beyond the lower cover

This part, this bit with arrow

I do not think the bit you circled is part of the lower deflector

Thank you sooooo much, I’ve been on the inter webs for hours trying to get clarification. I truly appreciate your help!!!!
@D.J. Thank you for your help, I was on the fence about ordering everything, letting the dealer deal with it, or just changing my liner. I appreciate your help, likely going to do the swap myself because as good as my dealer has been, I’m sure they’re going to want major $$$.

I answered on the other thread that you "necromanced" :D. My guess is that the "lip" is separate, but most likely comes with the fender liner as part of it, i.e., already attached. It wouldn't make sense to form the lip as part of the whole, since it is intended to take a "hit" before you cram your tire into a curb or similar that is tall enough to scrape the bottom of the car, and thus the lip would only be good for one solid hit and need replacing. Anyway, that's all just a guess: I can't tell from feeling with my fingers for sure how it is attached.

The good news is, all those bits are super easy to remove/replace.

I would buy some extra of those plastic rivet clips.

I have 50 PC's each of these cheap clips which "work" when I don't have the OEM clips

OEM Kia clips are better than these cheap alternates, but they do - work.

There is likely a better source for replacement clips.

Can’t believe there isn’t a cost effective aftermarket part for this! $200 is ridiculous. Mine folded back on the highway and is really destroyed, even pushed the inside of the wheel-well plastic against the tire and tore into that.

Yeah I just paid $273 plus $75 install last week at the dealership. Unfortunately it’s a necessary evil..

The real crime is $75 install.

after any work is done to your car, everybody check you panel for correct install. Hasty folks just slap it back on top of the front bumper...

What happens if you don’t have this? Mine got ripped off. Instead of getting a new one I had my friend make me a splitter with it extending Geary her back to cover under the engine bay a bit but some is still slightly exposed

Post a pic:)
Sounds interesting

My question is, what is exposed and getting plastered when the weather is bad, or you are on a filthy road? Secondarily, what does messing around with (removing) undercarriage panels potentially do to the aerodynamics at high speeds?

Where is the proper placement? I’m not quite following when you say they put it on top of the front bumper.

when I say on top I mean essentially outside of the lower edge of the bumper. if memory serves, there are a few tabs that go under the edge of the bottom of the bumper, so essentially exposed, but the rest of the panel goes inside of the bottom edge of the bumper. not sure If I'm explaining myself very well.

I've had the bumper off a few times, and when putting it back on, it's kind of easy to get that screwed up so the bottom panel can catch air.

Mine too just turned inside out on the highway, so, putting it out there, would gladly buy a improved skid pad upgraded pad before wasting $300 on something similarly unlikely to last (Though it may just get wrapped in zip ties this time) any vendors interested?

The OEM lower deflector is perfectly fine (IF INSTALLED CORRECTLY) + (NOT DAMAGE).
If it is installed incorrectly (over vs under or vice verse) is become a scoop and tears itself off.

I suspect most people with issues had it installed incorrectly by a sloppy tech.

No tech has ever removed it, so the likely explanation is it got damaged on the road, it was easily torn apart with my hands afterwards, kind of a cardboard material. Would like something that can take a curb or wayward freeway debris a bit better, something metal like in some earlier pics on this thread.

If it's going to cost as much as they priced this thing, something more substantial would be nice.
