Hello everyone! Figured it’s time to introduce myself, last month I picked up a CPO 2018 AWD GT2. My last vehicle was a Nissan Frontier Pro-4X, after driving fast cars for years I wanted to try a truck again and that was quite a shock coming from a 400+ horsepower VW GTI. So living in Oklahoma, we don’t have the best roads around so the truck was a horrible ride and overall a useless truck with a 5 foot bed!

So I’ve watched this car since they were released and wanted one. But with the stigma that the Kia name carried for so long I was very skeptical about it. A few years go by, no one really has much bad to say about them so I think well let’s give them 4 years. Well it’s been 4 years and this car still has almost nothing but praise.

Now I told myself, I’m going to wait a year before doing anything to the car. Well that didn’t last but a week. Exactly 1 week in, a BMS 450 kit and a new set of wheels and tires were on their way haha! After getting the new wheels and tires on I can’t live with the fender gap that I have so a set of H&R springs are on their way.

Overall impressions with this car. The power is very nice, it comes on down low and carries it nicely throughout the rpm’s. It doesn’t feel like the turbo cars of old at all. The handling is well, to expected for a car this size. It’s definitely not like my golf haha, but in all fairness this car is substantially heavier and a GT car. The interior is a very nice place to be, seats are super comfortable and the ventilated seats are literally the best thing ever invented. However it is a strange feeling to have a cold a**hole! And the exterior…my god it’s a beautiful car. The lines a curves are perfect in my opinion, the fake hood vents I could do without but the look is good and breaks up the sea of sheet metal that is the hood. Overall I love this car so far, nothing really bad to say about it yet.

So anyways here’s a few pictures, they’re not great so fair warning.

Welcome to the hive! - Highly recommend front and rear sway bars, Great colour choice too BTW

I’m in the same boat. Picked up a red AWD GT2 CPO for a price I was happy with a few weeks ago. Added my version of the 100hp kit plus the snorkels. Loving it so far!

I wonder if you got @P22Tyler 's HCR. Was yours a local sale?

I bought it from Jerry Seiner dealers, the one in South Jordan UT about 2-3 weeks ago.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I definitely plan on that, likely sooner rather than later. I’ve put them in every car I’ve had so I know the difference they make! And thank you, this red is beautiful!

Hah! What are the odds? I mostly just bought the kit since it’s everything in one package, definitely loving it so far. I have e-85 just down the street but I’ll likely just go meth injection. I had a 2 nozzle injection on my golf set up on a progressive controller that was super simple to install. I need to see if Snow Performance makes a kit for the stinger. Plus no guesswork with the mix.
Great intro! Welcome to the forum.
Appreciate it!

Honestly don't even want to know, I still miss it. Hopefully whoever has it is taking good care of it.

Based on his pictures I don’t think so. It had the original badges and no “stinger” in the rear. I rebadged from stock

Welcome to the forum. I imagine it is a change from a gti handling wise. I see many of those where I live. I don’t doubt they can be made fast. But they look too small to me. I don’t think of the Stinger as large coming from a modified Ford Edge suv. I had 400 whp in my Ford Edge with custom turbos. I would say with the JB4 on map 2 it would be a close race with my old vehicle. But the Ford Edge just wasn’t sexy to look at and handled like a mini bus. I hope you enjoy your Stinger. Good choice on the color.

Handling wise, haha no it’s just not the same type of car. Yeah they’re small overall but I had gutted the rear and built a big open rear end so it was quite useful. The stinger is relatively large but I had a dodge magnum srt8 for a while, that was a big car! I got away from quick cars for a while but couldn’t take it anymore. But yeah I’m definitely enjoying this car and definitely looking forward to see what this platform can do.

I just looked up a gti length. Wow it is 169 inches. That would turn like it’s on rails probably. I had a 2014 chevy Cruze which is bigger and always thought it was like the back window was right on top of me. But that wasn’t a performance car. Lol.

Sure a GTI was great on the backroads, but it wasn't the highway cruiser that the Stinger is.
