Has anyone ran the same size wheels as the rear on the front ? Square setup.

As the title says I am trying to see if this works before I do it (or at least go to the trouble to try it). I just need to know if it works and if there is any problems with clearance or handling. I have a AWD 2019 gt 1. I want to be able to rotate the when needed , right now I have 19,000 miles on it and the back 2 are slick in the middle and I don't run her hard too much and she doesn't spin so I will not be buying Michelin's for sure. Thanks for the help in advance.

My Stinger had the square 18x8 w/ 225s, so I don’t know from experience, but I’m pretty sure the wider wheels/tires would hit the struts on the front

Hi. I know that the OEM 8.5" wheels get run in front, but as I recall you have to add spacers. When you consider that the offset of the 8" front wheel is 34, and the rear wheel has an offset of 46.5 and is a half inch wider, you can get an idea of the challenge to make it clear in front. But I know it has been done, for the very reason you say: to be able to rotate the tires (while not looking skinny in the back: it is a widely held opinion that an 8" tire in the rear is not enough for a c. 4K lb. car). And sorry, I don't recall who on the forum has done this: it's been quite a while since this topic was discussed.

(edit: here's the other consideration: why do you want to run OEM wheels, if you have to buy another pair? They are EXPENSIVE new, a lot more than most aftermarket options. If you have access to another set of 8.5" rear wheels for on the cheap, forget what I am saying. :P)

clarify a few things...first I am not going to run factory wheels I am looking at several different wheels but if I want to do a square setup they all must be the same offset to work and I don't want to loose the width in the rear...I know I can do 4 8.5's but I want to know if I can do 4 9.5's. And again thanks for the replies.

there is a wheel fitment guide somewhere on this forum (sorry I cant link it, its been a while since I've seen it) that should tell you if 9.5s would fit on the front. Im fairly confident 9's would off the top of my head, but the general consensus seems to be that 8.5's with 255's on them seems to be the widest tire on the front that people run on here.

Yes, use the guide. I have a square setup but they were made with custom offsets to be used without issue. My setup is on there as well for my stance wheels. Overall, I like the look and feel of what I chose but I have a RWD.

Pretty sure thats the one

I run ESR RF2 Rotary Forged 19x8.5 +30 squared without any spacers, and have had zero issues with them. Fitment is spot on as well.
Mine is a 2018 GT2 AWD that came with the staggered 19" setup originally.

Thanks guys for all the help , very much appreciated. I will take a look at the guide you found.

If you have any questions about info on the spreadsheet give me a holler, I've kinda taken over stewardship of that sheet since the owner of it sold his stinger
