Honestly not sure, shortly after getting it in I had the
spark plugs installed so I could push it to map 2 and then re-checked the connection for months. I brought it into Kia for them to do some warranty work in December on the rear window (window stopped working randomly) and I tried to put it in valet mode and it didn't connect, but I kinda forgot about it honestly. I just wrote it off as "oh it's my new phone, I need to probably update something" and left it at that.
Then, about a month ago when I was at a Cars & Octane meet and tried to connect to mine to show someone else who was looking to buy one and it wouldn't connect. After that was when I started doing all the normal troubleshooting stuff - toggling bluetooth on and off, disconnecting car battery for 10 minutes, forgetting all devices from inside the app, updating the phone, updating the app, joining the beta, re-updating the app, uninstalling and re-installing fresh the app....everything but buying the app on a second phone to test it out. Then I came here, which redirected me to n54 forums, who then redirected me to the support email - and those guys were awesome. Super quick, didn't waste time asking unnecessary questions (meaning they actually read the initial update which is rare in customer service nowadays), and within a day or so I already had the UPS tracking info for the new module and it was at my door a couple days later.
I do feel as if the car definitely was still running map 2 the whole time I was without connection though - when I reconnected everything, it loaded right back into map 2 without any issues and the car definitely feels the same.
