Is there any way to remove the top speed limiter for the gt trims that came with the oem 18 inch wheels? I’ve seen something over on the n54 forum but not sure what it is and how to purchase. Also, will doing this mess up the warranty? Detectable? Thanks in advance.

This comes up occasionally. Yes, it is detectable because the ECU essentially gets "tuned" to ignore the speed limiter setting (I don't know anything about the technical aspects). So, your warranty is void in that case. But "pay to play" is the attitude I suppose. I don't see why raising the speed limiter from 140 to 167 would void the warranty.

I'd guess it's BC the shitty 18" tires aren't Z-rated like the Michelin Pilots are on the GT/19" rim models

The factory Bridgestones on my ‘22 GT-Line are V rated which is 149 mph. I am guessing the 130 MPH limit has more to do with braking performance than anything else.

I’m definitely getting tuned now. Wish I have would known this before hand but will make do. Will a stock tune remove the speed limiter ?

Conservative tune nothing aggressive any suggestions ?

How often you plan on going over 130mph?
Not to often only on my weekend outings lol but I would like to have it there than not at all. It was a guy on the forum who said he had his top speed limiter removed.

The Michelin PS4 and PS4S are (Y) rated, for over 186 MPH.

I don't know what a "stock tune" is. Should I ever want to remove all speed limiter programming, I would simply tell a tune shop what I want and let them do the rest: same, if I wanted to change the speed limiter from 140 to 167.

I agree. I’m going to talk with my shop about the possibility of just getting that removed.

You think terry would know about this ? I tired messaging him on here but it wouldn’t allow it. I would really like to know more about this product and if it can be a stand alone unit without the JB4

Ordered from terry through email. He stated everything works fine with it and it can be used as a stand alone until without JB4 to unlock top speed limiter.
let me know how it goes once installed, please!

What's the current speed limit on the stinger? I'm seeing 130. and then I'm seeing that this add-on lets you hit 150. I'm only bringing this up because I haven't added this onto my stinger and I've hit 145 like a week ago

^^^Did it stop accelerating at 145 MPH? Because the lower speed limiter is at 140, not 130 (maybe the earlier limiter was 130, but not anymore). And the actual speed attainable is a few miles per hour above the limiter: I haven't heard of anyone not being able to reach the set limit; but several have reported going quicker, like you. :)

I’ve topped out at 132 mph on a gt trim 2019. It wouldn’t go any faster lol

I only hit 132mph. Only tried once but it wouldn’t budge past 132pmh

Ah, then the 2019 AWD with A/S tires had a 130 MPH limit set. Must be it. Right about then, the 2020 trims were coming out and that would have been when I was seeing conversations about "No, the limiter is at 140, not 130": and I recall someone even linking to the Kia specs page showing the 140 limit with AWD equipped with A/S tires.

it started climbing pretty slow at that point so I just stopped. cars in front of me started getting close pretty quick lol.

hmmm if your car is stock then I believe having a jb4 will allow you to go a little higher maybe? complete guess
