so some time ago i bought ewg wires. sadly when I start my car it throws a check engine light and if I press on the throttle my turbos sound like they're on x-games mode and my bov sound like they're on steroids from barely even pressing on the gas and the car drives kinda slow.

weird part. if I turn on my car in accessories mode and then delete the code before I turn on my car everything seems to work smoothly but I have to make sure I clear the code before I turn on my car.

Does anyone know if I'm f*cking myself over doing that or why it seems like everything is working perfectly after I clear the code?

all this happened after installing ewg wires

prob got a wire backwards. did you use that one n54 phot guide someone posted with purple and blue letters in the pic by chance?

That sounds like what happened to me. Problem was self inflicted in my case. I didn’t go to the User Adjustment settings in the app after installing the EWG wires as per the EWG sticky.

A lot of us had that issue after installing the wire; the fix was a new master chip.

If you reach out to BMS and explain what's going on they'll probably offer to send you a new one.

I will make sure again that my wires do not look like that photo. I believe whoever posted that had the wires mixed up. but I do get a question because I don't currently remember. once the wires are all hooked up correctly it doesn't matter which one is connected to the driver or passenger side correct?

I have emailed them about what I said. they want a log which I will send over today. will update later today or tomorrow.

Happens to older systems 2019 and older, requires a 2580 firmware update to resolve. You can buy a 2580 on our site for $35 or send in your board to be reflashed for free.

Is there a way to figure out what firmware you're on? I haven't installed the wires yet but they are sitting on my desk. I don't want to put them in if it's going to be an issue.

Installed me new chip today! I think it’s working for the most part. But I have some codes that keep getting thrown up since I got my jb4. Anyone know where exactly in the car I can find the problem? Like where is it located I guess.

Mainly the second code! I’ve been dealing with that one for almost a year next month. Top code! First time seeing it so it might be related to my new upgraded chip or ewg wires now that I’ve upgraded the chip

its an 02 sensor code

Did you change the settings in the app after adding the EWG’s?

i updated firmware before i added them , no issues or codes , but the second code is for an 02 heater circuit . maybe a 02 plug is loose ?

I added them a while ago but had problems with the chip. replaced the chip yesterday so my setting should be fine. changed them a couple of months back. but if one of yall can show an example of what yall got that would be helpful.

mine should be the latest update but updating and checking what version I'm on lowkey confuses me. also, I'm not sure where that 02 plus is but I'm thinking it's loose also or messed up because I've been getting this code for a real long time.

check the fuel wires that go to the 02's . make sure the connection is good , i soldered mine to the plugs so i would not have this issue

Hmm, might just replace my jb4 fuel wires then. I know one of the clits is missing the actual clip to latch on properly and then I took them apart and put them back together to make sure everything had a solid connection. I probably messed them up

I saw this dude use a small zip tie to clip in the harness. different car and plug but should work the same way with my broken clip.

yeah if the clip is broken . toss a zip around the 2 to hold it in place and make sure the wire from the jb4 is connected properly and securely
