What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

The carbon fiber tips helped with cabin drone?
A lot of guys use aftermarket tips to replace the OEM tips to help lower cabin drone. It works because the aftermarket tips actually connect to the exhaust pipes versus the oem tips that just float there and don't connect. It helps carry the sound waves past the rear bumper better.

Yesterday must have hit a water-filled pothole because it blew both of my tires on the driver's side and i didn't see it. It was raining for 36 hours straight. It was frustrating to lose $450 of tires so easily. Those tires still had plenty of tread life left.

Thankfully a year or so ago I found someone selling a full set of stock GT2 wheels and tires. I kept them in my shed. So had my car towed back to the town I lived in but all the tire shops were closed by then. Took a couple of my spare wheels with tires and changed out the two flat ones.

Finally got the car back home 26 hours later. This whole ordeal reminds me of why I would never buy lower aspect ratio tires than what came with the car. Thinking of running 40 PSI in the tires from now on in hopes of not having tires pop so easily again in the future.

What pressure were you running at the time of the pothole incident ?

40 psi is only 2 and 1 psi above KIA recommended.

Looking at the 18", for the rear they recommend 39psi regardless of load. Makes little sense.

Since upgrading to 97 load index tire, I keep 35/37psi F/R. Seems to be a good medium between comfort and handling.

We must have different recommendations in the US.

I was running the OEM recommendation of 38 front and 36 rear.

it is the same there too, his highlights was for maximum load/speeds over 100mph. 38f 36r is the standard staggered pressure for awd. Rwd models front pressure staggered is 36.

The stock tips pictured bolt to the rear diffuser, the stock muffler tips “float” inside the tips but have a plate that probably helps prevent drone from feeding back. The aftermarket exhaust systems don’t seem to have this plate so tips that clamp directly on the exhaust help control the drone.
FYI, for the MBRP, which is 2.5”, you need 63mm inlet tips.

I did mine a few days ago. I sprayed some goo gone gel and used a heat gun to remove the script. Even with the script gone with indirect light you can see where the old one was. The new one lines up nicely and sticks in place. Maybe took twenty minutes to swap.

Put in the body colored panel replacement for the side reflectors, put on window visors and extended the look by wrapping the chrome gloss black.20220209_170154.webp
