What Dyno? 4hp is well in margin of error and how is it getting "emissions output"? was the car already up to temp in the first test?

This reminds me of people selling resistors as a "performance chip" back in the day.

I and many others run these on our 2.0s: HKS M45XL Spark Plugs

Ok after getting alot negative feed back on the thorton chip, i returned it and bought the RaceChip GTS black, installed it wednesday, everything went very smooth and i can say i was felling a big difference in race mode, but now my plugs are not helping in higher rpm range, so today ill install the HKS m45xl's and let you know how its going, tneer exhaust is next week...

I had a really rough misfire with no code when running my racechip. My best performance was map 6, but I ended up having 3 bad coils after 2k miles. I dont know if it was the racechip or just faulty packs from the factory.

More likely bad coil packs and poorly gapped spark plugs. The race chip doesn't really do anything that would fry a coil. Kia has been notorious for not having spark plugs gapped properly in both the 4 and 6cyl engines

Read the thread. These chips are a scam. Go buy something from a well known tuner not some Ebay special.

Don't waste your money on the Thorton Chip, Go to Racechip.com, get the add on phone app so you can tune while driving. I have had this set up for over 6 months, It adds tons of fun to daily driving, In map 6 Race mode it's a totally different experience over factory...
