I know there's a ton of other discussions out there, but these tips do it for under $20! They do it the safest and most efficient way also.

This is awesome! Is the ISG button still functional after this? Meaning could i hit the button if for some reason i wanted to use it in the future?

No, not with the resistor. But if you wanted to flip back and forth, you could easily tap that wire with the exact same device as I used in the Sport mode. During start, it would active/simulate a button push. Then you could push it to turn it back on anytime you want.

I'm assuming the timer could be used to default it to smart or custom as well?

From the default Comfort, you can go either 1 click clockwise, or 1 click CC. So yes, I know CW is Sport, and I'm pretty sure CC is ECO. It can moved back to any position after that happens.

Is it the same wire for a Gt?

I can't say for sure 100%, but all the GT's should be the same regardless. Kia is smarter than to change up pin outs and colors on the same car. imho :)

Ok ty. The only reason I asked is because my switch layout and yours looked different to me-yours has more options filling out that switch control area

Does this cause the ISG light on Tachometer to flash.

Awesome thank you, now to track down a 1k resistor at hobbytown or radio shack....

I did the ISG resistor on my 2020 and 2022 GT2. didn't tap the wires as I didn't want a possible issue with KIA ever. If you take the legs of the resistor and push then in the harness it will just sit there and not move. no cutting, and no sign of it ever.

methinks he would need a flux capacitor first!
Found one. Called hobby town now. Gonna get it installed soon.

Did you take a picture?

Ya just did the single resistor without tapping. Stays in place and works flawlessly. Thank you!

So I have an issue where I cannot disable my ISG at all. I cannot turn it off. I have a code for my adaptive cruise. you thinks this may be related? I can't find the DTC code now. I had it stored but can't find it. Any suggestions as to why I can't disable the ISG? and would doing this trick work even though I am not able to use the swutch to disable them?
