Before I start ordering parts, figured I would post audio upgrade plan.

Starting with 2022 Red GT1 (9 speaker setup). Goal=more midrange & bass level (crossover points & independent boost)

1. loaded line converters coming off stock amp
2. D4S JP95 5ch amp near spare
3. 8" sub in import shark style location on ch5 (800w @ 2 ohm)
4. 2 stock floor subs as midbass on ch3-4 (170w @ 4 ohm)
5. 4 stock door mids on ch1-2 (260w/2 @ 2 ohm)

need plan for center channel?
need plan for driver brands?
need plan for AudioControl LOC

Do you own any gear already? Before parts I'd start with dynamat in the trunk/hatch area if you haven't done it already

Word!!!!!

Dynamat chit out of doors & trunk, thanks!

JP95 on the way, Mishimoto fmic on back order, puddle lights and K&N coming after that gets here.

Yup, been reading all their threads until eyes bleed

Just my opinion, but I think the OEM under seat subs would make terrible mid bass drivers.

But you would have to try it to know for sure.

Deaden the hell out of your doors, including the plastic piece the speaker & window is mounted to. The door is actually very well sealed, so it makes a decent enclosure, but that plastic panel is way too flexible.

I recently replaced my front door midwoofers with Focal flax 6.5's I got a sweet deal on, and I'm quite happy with them, even with the measly 75W my Helix V12 delivers.

I'd probably just nix the floor speakers. Trying to run mids in the door plus the floor is asking for trouble.

How did you provide signal to Helix v12? High level in or Line out converter?

Cody, double dead doors

I'm using high-level inputs (at least until mosconi releases their RC-CAN system for kia/hyundai).

The V12 has 12 channels of high-level inputs, so it's 1:1 from the factory 11-channel amp. It's very expensive though, I lucked into a used one for $850.

Your factory amp has fewer channels than the GT2, so it may be easier to get a full-ish range signal to a LOC, Get one that sums inputs. You'll still have to live with the factory tuning unless you get a DSP..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you only have two speakers in each door, and they're fed from a single channel?
Adding another speaker run to the doors is not fun (see my build thread), but you could easily go with a good component set with a passive crossover fed by your DFS amp.

If you go for a DSP that sums signals the Audio Control DM-810 can be found on eBay for around $450 and that should allow you to do nearly everything you'd want to do.

Yes, pretty sure that checks out. 4pr of leads, feeding 4 doors.

Yes, looking at component set and/or coax set with crossovers.

The DFS amp has some basic crossovers, but on last system I used AC EQX feeding 5ch amp.

I'd wonder about using some smaller sized amps the D4s looks nice but it's pretty large and the Stinger is lacking for space for gear.

Wife goes by looks, red car + red amp = nudie pics and cocktails.

I'm getting the SFB-1800D5 for my white Sorento, 5" shorter!!!

Class D amps pack a lot of watts in a tiny package these days.

I bought a Rockford fosgate M5-1000x1 on black Friday and it's hard to believe something that small puts out 1000 watts. I've yet to install it but it will absolutely fit in the well next to the battery.

True.

What are you going to power with that M5-1000x1?

Audiofrog GB10D4 (conservatively 500W RMS, 1500W peak)

There are a couple of audio geeks on here that have extensive upgrade threads. @andrew tay is the one I remember reading best: this is his main thread: Change Harman Kardon speakers Kia Stinger And he still comes here. :)
i thought i was the resident audio guy around here ,,lol

FWIW: Had a memory flashback this morning that amuses me:

I came back from a deployment in 1994 and immeadiately dropped 4x Boston Pro 8.4lf, 4x Boston Pro 6.5lf w/2x neo-tweeters on Soundstream Reference 405, fed by AudioControl EQX. I felt like a god when I saw the RTA read 160! The store said it wasn't possible and recalibrated the RTA, 100% sure it was broken. They didn't know I built mdf boxes behind each of the 6.5s

Later the Reference 705 came out, but had moved onto building a new mountain bike.

The D4S JP95 is double the 705 that was double the 405. Shouldn't be to hard to equal or better that build if I'm picky on speaker choices. Stinger is larger than previous car, lot's of room from my starting pov.
