Will you update?

^^Indeed! That's my phone upgrade strategy too. I plan on keeping the car long term, and am just not sure at the quality of the flash used in these head units. Once a year updating is sufficient unless they add some really great features that make it worthwhile to update sooner.

Folks will flock if/when they release the wireless CarPlay functionality…. Since moving to a magnetized wireless qi mount I haven’t used CarPlay.

I've still yet to use AA. It's been 4 months since I got the car. I've used the garmin a few times on longer trips (due to custom routes made on the pc). I know the relative traffic patterns around here and the area in general. The inbuilt gps was used a few times to get a feel for how to navigate with it.

Now if it was all wireless, that would be a game changer. Lets hope they implement that sooner than later.

Wireless AA is a hardware feature. So a software update won't enable this unless the car's head unit has the hardware already. If you want wireless AA now, there are several companies that sell a little box that does this.

Good plan. It seems that some of the 2022 GT2's actually do have the Kia Connect functions that allow remote start, opening windows, turning on seat warmers/vents from your cell phone. (Stinger GT2 Special Edition...I'm assuming by special edtion they mean Scorpion?)
Why just some? I have a "regular" 22 GT2, and it has this. I think it is the models that use the new Kia app as opposed to the old one?

It’s not supported on models sold in Massachusetts due to certain state laws.

Well that's just silly.

So you know what the state law is preventing the feature? Is it related to an environmental policy preventing an idling car warming up?

IIRC, it has to do with the "right to repair" law in Massachusetts

My understanding is that rather than try to conform to the regulations and requirements of the law, Kia just decided to disable the link.

Kia wasn't the only manufacturer that went that way. Subaru has disabled their system on 22 cars as well

Doesn't seem very convenient, or popular. What a quirky local regulation.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get back the old image of ' powertrain' while switching drive modes?
This new picture is disgusting - wtf is that ?!

Not without reverting back to the previous update, which I understand is not straightforward

That's what I was afraid of.... this pic is just fugly :/
Gotta take the bad with the good it seems. The previous April update navigation maps had me, on one route, saying to make a U-turn in the middle of the highway where there were not even any cross streets, just open fields miles from anywhere. Once I passed that point, the route just continued to the next maneuver like nothing had happened. This latest update seems to fix that.

Finally the Eu version of the update is available.
BUT, they completely removed the sky (horizon) in the 3D version. I don't know who they were copying this time (prob. mercedes) but they are the biggest bunch of idiots I've ever seen. I am so upset with this.

Compared to the version the car came with in 2019 we now:
- have a shitty looking map view with a pseudo 3D feature
- a slow and unresponsive system
- an ugly purple color everywhere
- the info on time added by traffic is not gone
- zero new features

So basically they made it slower, took out features and made it uglier. How are these people still employed?!

The lack of being able to set a color "theme" for the system I find amazing. The aftermarket Pioneer I had in my previous car (the Pioneer was bought in 2015) not only had the capability to change color themes but personalized backgrounds for each listening source! Would be nice if they could either tie the accent color selection into selection of the interior LED accent lighting, or have a spot to set it on its own. If anything 5 or 6 colors to select from instead of forcing that purple.
