not impressed. i was told they "fixed the trunk rattle". it rattles worse than before.
they have to order a new motor for the back window for a brand new car that only has 4k miles on it. which means i will have to take the car back.
the child window lock, i was told was "fixed". my dumbass figured out it was never broken-they didnt know how it worked and i figured it out this weekend, the driver still can control back windows even if the child lock button is pressed-duh, im not the sharpest..
the auto start stop i was told isnt working because its not meeting the required outside conditions.
which i think is bs, because when i first got the car it auto start stopped waaay too much;
hate it anyway, glad it doesnt work. checking on the work that was supposed to be done thru my dash cams, i honestly didnt see them work on anything.
one guy i saw tugging and pulling up and down on the hatchback lid to see if something was loose,
then one guy took it for a 20 minute drive and sat in a parking lot for 10 minutes.
i took it in at 7am and it sat in a parking lot until 11:30am.
paying this much for a car, it disgust me that i have to live with the hatchback rattle.
its so f#cking annoying. too many bad experiences with dealerships and their service centers.

Which dealership and location is this?

The ISG is likely real: conditions change: a brand new battery will engage the function more readily than a not new battery.

Hatch rattle has numerous fixes, as there is no single causation. All of the fixes are on the forum. Here are a few off the top of my head: most common fix, insert an extra washer in the down stops; insert extra washers under the side down stops; check to make sure that your piston mounts are tight; ditto, hatch lid itself; wrap the hatch catch in tape (hockey or some other fabric tape); make sure that all the liners are fastened securely: some clips might either be loose or even broken; the deck lid (spoiler) can be loose for the same reason, only it might be one of the screws working loose. (anyone at a dealership who doesn't know of any or all of these is not keeping up, no kidding)

As for the failed electric motor: it is a mass produced electric "toothbrush" motor (bigger than most): and if there is an electric part on these cars that is going to fail first and more often than any other, it is one of the numerous electric motors. We even have little fan motors in our LED headlights ferpetesakes!?

I'm looking forward to describing a "chugging" issue that I have since my last (45K miles) service: had spark plugs changed, as it is recommended; and now when I engage the turbos vigorously the acceleration is no longer smooth and seamless: I get a rapid blip in the power curve, which feels for all the world like running over a consistently bad, ridged road surface. Hope springs eternal. :P

You NEED to send them a certified return receipt letter in the mail documenting the issues, addressed to the manager of the dealership, and ask them what their corrective actions will be and that you would like a response in 10 days. You need to do this because most lemon laws give the dealer 2 attempts to fix something and a final attempt in a certain amount of time, if they don't fix it, they have to buy it back, but you have to document the interaction and that you already took it in for these issues. A letter of this type will get noticed and in 99.9% of cases, will solve the issue, they'll get serious and repair the damn car. In the .1% where they don't, it's the kind of documentation you need to support a lemon case. They tend to know that.

Sorry to hear of all the issues with your car and the dealership experiences. I take my car in this Wednesday for the same issue with my rear, left window no longer going down. I hear the motor when I press the down button but the window doesn't go down. My other three windows work as normal.

it was south jordan kia

It’s a service from the post office, I’m sure Canada does it.

I'm not sure even Kia knows what "conditions" their own ISG needs to work, they've never been able to explain it to me. Might give the SLC Jerry Seiner location a shot if you can't get it figured out there, the guy that works on the Stingers there is pretty good about work my car. Other than the ISG.

My stop and go works in certain conditions as well. Doesn't bother me, at all. Especially having my car modded for performance, it hasnt happened since.

The trunk rattle is probably the only biggest complaint on the stingers. Theyre tons of videos on YouTube addressing this and DYI vids on fixing the rattle yourself.

I think having a car like Stinger, its important to see if you yourself can fix some of your issues. Being a car for enthusiast and all.

My car gets driven very little so the start stop never works. The battery is never fully charged. On the off chance I drive the car for an hour or more, it starts working again. Do not worry about that. Also, you can fix the hatch rattle yourself. Just figure out the right combination of washers, etc. Other than that, fantastic car, right? Think of all the good stuff.

Of course, I take my car into the dealership this morning and the rear window works perfectly fine again. On multiple occasions in the last 3 weeks I tried to roll the window down and it wouldn't work and I would just hear the window motor. So since the dealer couldn't replicate the problem they said they can't make a warranty claim and to come back if it happens again.

May as well wait until it completely fails at this point. Also wait for the next problem to crop up, if any, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

damn that sucks. its funny, my window started working again for a day, but with a really loud noise like something is stuck in there. it was having a hard time going up or down. it doesnt work again today.

If the window motor gears are anything like Mazdas were in my CX9, plastic. I wonder if there was a bad batch. In my cx it would work at random and when it didn't you could hear the motor running/trying. A few teeth had worn out so it all depended on where it landed if it would work or not. Like i said maybe there was a bad molding set, your cars are to new for them to be worn already.

um, just wanted to give props to jerry seiner south jordan kia. today was a good visit. they fixed my window motor problem and had me outta there in an hour.

That's the S. Jordan Jerry Seiner I know. :D I'm still in honeymoon mode with them nearly four years in (of course, it helps that nothing has gone haywire on my car, hah).
