New Navigation/Infotainment Update?

Will you update?

@Kimberly Lazarski How is this lag manifested? Where are you noticing lag?
The lag was when I switched between functions, like, radio or nav to home, radio to nav, nav to radio, android auto to climate --- anything which required a full screen redraw.

Over the weekend I decided to try a reinstall before hitting the reset button (the little indented pinswitch in the dashboard). Post-reinstall, there has been little to no lag.

Interestingly, there were a couple of warning (not error) messages displayed during the first upgrade, and it took well over an hour. The second time, it took around 20 minutes and no warnings were displayed.

I just bought a used 2020 GT2 AWD 3.3T, it says the sd card in not installed and there isn't one.

Can I just download the update and install it?

This morning when I went to launch the Kia Navigation Updater app (on my Windows PC), it installed a new version of the app which they said was more intuitive.
However once the new app was installed, it said the maps I already have (from a couple weeks ago) is already the latest.
All last week it said that new files were being prepared and to try later, so I guess the app is what is new, not the actual map files.

Mine installed an update to the updater too, but still unavailable.

You have a '22, maybe those are still not ready. It was for my '19.
I have a 2019 GT2 AWD and got the same results: updated the updater but got message that no updates were available at this time for my vehicle. I'm still running the original software that came with the car 3 years ago.

Mine is a 2018... it was always available. (In Canada)
UVO was renamed to "Kia Connect" sometime last month - so both terms will be used interchangeably.

Kia Connect = UVO Intelligence

Can remote start your car from your phone or computer.

Not in US models prior to 2022. Even then, it is not available in cars sold in Massachusetts due to state laws regarding remote connect requirements.

Howdy. All you can do is update the NAV (maps, media, etc.) I did that for the first time since fall '18 this past summer when the update was made available online. Lately, the latest update has been taken down then put back up at least a couple of times. Maybe it's working today, go look.

Update is live at the time of this msg.

Resolved. Several issues.

1) I have relatively tight security for web browsing. The installer was trying to pull a .inf file, which the firewall's web security was blocking.

2) Firewall also has country blocking enabled, the installer pulls the update from AWS in south korea! This was one of the blocked countries. After removing the block, it's downloading ok (~30 MB/s). Why is it not pulling from a domestic server????

Edit: All downloaded, so... Do we wait another month to apply this to make sure there's no further updates.....? I'm inclined to wait until the spring update + a few months to make sure there's no issues.

Install took forever … like more than an hour. Felt like it went for a second round but eventually it finished.

By that logic you would simply be waiting forever!

Just install that bad boy and enjoy all the thousands of updated map locations and roads and speeds etc etc...

I installed mine before it got pulled for inspection. (Installed Nov 9th) on my 2018 Canadian Stinger. Everything been working well, haven't noticed anything negative
