This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. I can't seem to find a Canadian supplier that sells oem Kia parts like oil filters and fluids etc. I'm considering doing my own oil changes and maintenance. Anyone know any suppliers versus going to the parts counter at my local Kia dealer?

I buy the much more economical oil filters from rockauto, and pay for shipping. Still way cheaper than the dealer.

I bought 5 pcs last time I ordered .

It's weird and frustrating that Canadian Tire and Walmart Canada do not stock our crappy cartridge oil filter.

Did you try NAPA?

What are you paying at Rockauto for filters? I just buy from the dealer and I'm paying less than $20 per filter.

I used Auto Parts in Canada! - Canada Auto Parts Online for filters - not oem ... I think the warehouse is Mississauga if you're local ... best deal on fluids (oil or otherwise) tends to be big box/CT doorcrashers. I wait for Canadian Tire to mark Pennzoil down to $30 and use the yearly mail in $5 or $10 mail in rebate to stock up. Works out to be about $30 ish for oil + $8 for the filter to do my own 6900ml oil change. Dealer is about $90 from what I recall and I never get a straight answer on what oil they use.

As others have said, Rock Auto is awesome but so much hassle with exchange/delivery to Canada. It's been a minute since I've looked south for deals.
Makes me reminisce about my way back day trips across to Buffalo for new tires ...

You may be stuck with the dealer for true OEM parts ... nothing I'm aware of that would be any cheaper in the long run. I'm curious too if you find a good source.

Under $20 from the dealer is great. My dealer was $36CAD before tax...

Shipping listed here is mostly for the brake pads. It was basically $50 CAD for 5 oil filters.

Why not just ask the parts dept for a 10% discount if you buy a case.

Good idea. I'll try that.
Probably still over double the price of aftermarket, but I will check.

Some people value OEM oil filters, I don't, I believe WIX meet or exceed the OEM quality.

+1 for wix. lots of YouTube videos of people testing various filters using different means and wix always does well. I’m sure there are ‘better’ filters but price point and oem equivalency is a match with wix. You can find them for less than $10 cdn delivered. I put my first 1 on my 2022 last weekend and have 5 waiting …

@iQMe where are you finding filters under $10 delivered in Canada?

Does anyone actually pay these prices for aftermarket filters? (NAPA). Crazy $$$ ridiculous.

Looks like partsavatar has bumped the price by about $2 per filter - you’ll need to buy 5 for free delivery … about 6 months ago I nabbed 6 for $62 to the door. A bit more now but I think it’s still the best Canadian side. I’d buy from them again. Too bad they don’t have a box of 12 option like they do for other wix filters. Rockauto has them for $8ish Canadian when I last looked but there’s a $15 delivery charge. I’ve done Napa filters on other cars - pretty sure the gold line are wix rebadged. They have always been reasonably priced …dunno what’s changed.

Well, it was a good idea.
$27 plus tax ($30.51) really is too much for a basic filter cartridge.

Wix is a good brand. You're good using that one. The OEM one is very good too. It's made by Mahle, which the German luxury brands contract for their oil cleaner elements.

stick with dealer your power train will be good for 10 years /keep your receipts.
A good thing to know is you can buy your oil at a cheaper rate and have the dealer do your oil change for only the cost of labour (about $ 30. plus filter)

If you're suggesting the powertrain has a 10 year warranty and I should stick with the dealer to maintain that warranty you'd be incorrect. The 10 year powertrain warranty is only in the USA, in Canada we just have a 5yr/100,000km powertrain warranty.

Seeing these vehicles have do much tech in then was a reason I got a 8yr/200km extended warranty. Everything covered bumper to bumper other than wear and tear

You do not need to pay for oil changes at the dealer to maintain your warranty, or extended warranty. You do not need to use OEM oil filters either.

You just need some documented evidence.

Receipts for oil and filters works perfectly well.

Partsavatar wix filter for $14.00

Fairly new Stinger owner here.. I was curious why people would pay such a large price tag for a beautiful vehicle, but then try to save a couple of dollars on an oil filter? I can understand not wanting to pay the dealership for the service, because it's probably ridiculously expensive compared to DIY. I have changed my own filters in my Maxima for many years and the OEM filters were the same price as CT. (Fram, etc). I plan on buying my own oil absolutely, but a point was raised on here that you can bring your parts into the dealership and just pay labour. I will investigate this plan further, since it is more documentation to have on-hand.

Cheers
