MichaelJR.... Any updates on your car? I Just got back from BB Kia after getting new roof trim installed. Paint match and application turned out great.
I having that problem…. I got my fuel system cleaned and 10 min down the road the light came on took it make to the dealership and and said that they could find anything wrong with it. The turn off the light and I drive 10 min and the check engine light came on again. They then said that they need more to see what was going on and all. A few days they called me and said nothing what wrong that everything checked out.. about a month and a half the check engine light came back on. The finally told be that it was a bad Cadillac converter. Good thing my car was still on warranty… I just hope once’s it is fixed that it doesn’t come back on and all. I hope this helps.Problem is the dealership I had the oil change/injector cleaning is 90 minutes away so I hope I don't have to take it back there. Plan on going to another dealership nearby and trying there but letting them know what has been done on it so far.
Seeing if anyone else had experience with this. I'll call them and ask what cleaner was being used.
Why?I got my fuel system cleaned
cant they plug something in and get the error code, i dont know, i mean wouldnt that point them to what the error is? are these cars too new and the mechanics are not trained on new cars...My Kia Stinger 2018 AWD G2 recently was brought in for an oil change to the dealer. I have about 20000 miles on it +. They said they recommended the fuel injection cleaner at this maintenance interval so I let them do it. On the way to where I was going after this cleaning and oil change (40 minutes away) the check engine light came on. I called the dealer and they mentioned after this procedure sometimes some stuff registers in the engine. They thought that if I drove the car around for a bit it should get rid of the all the particles in the engine but I may need to return to have the check engine light turned off. I drove the car a few times for a couple weeks without issues and then brought it back by on my way home from vacation. The turned the sensor light off and said the engine looked fine. 30 minutes later as I'm back home the engine light flips back on.
Anyone know why this may be happening and is this normal? The check engine light had never come on until I did this procedure. I was ok with the explanation after first cleaning but happening 2 weeks later after the sensor was cleared has me concerned. The dealership who saw it last two times and perhaps caused this is like 90 minutes away so gonna have to do something more local if I'm bringing it in to be looked at again.
Anyone with any ideas/thoughts?
this is my mindset as well. been burned too many times. people dont care anymore. its not their car, they probably are underpaid, not enough to care. i know its weird, but the times ive taken mine in i will live view my dash cams to see wtf they are doing. all i can say is there are some strange people. gives me big time anxiety having to take my stinger to the dealership.I have learned that you should always go in for service at a dealership, tire place, mechanic, etc. with a distrusting mindset until they consistently prove they are trustworthy. Watch them like a hawk. Trust your judgement. Ask if you can observe your car being worked on or if you can talk to the technician working on your car.
As for your situation, I would go to the closer service department and see what they say and can do for you. If they can sort it out, then you have some solid ground to get a refund from the other service department if you want to pursue that.
You could also borrow a code reader from an Autozone or other auto parts store to see what codes you have. Post here and someone can probably figure out what’s going on.
As for fuel injection cleaning, all you need to do in the future is put a bootle in your tank every 20K miles if you like.
You can live view your dashcam(s)? What model is this?this is my mindset as well. been burned too many times. people dont care anymore. its not their car, they probably are underpaid, not enough to care. i know its weird, but the times ive taken mine in i will live view my dash cams to see wtf they are doing. all i can say is there are some strange people. gives me big time anxiety having to take my stinger to the dealership.
the only thing that sucks, is i have a power magic pro with it that goes into the fuse box, so it cuts off the cameras at a certain low voltage, which means when they cut off, i cannot remote live view anymore. You can live view your dashcam(s)? What model is this?
That - is - a proper feature packed dashcam.the only thing that sucks, is i have a power magic pro with it that goes into the fuse box, so it cuts off the cameras at a certain low voltage, which means when they cut off, i cannot remote live view anymore.
does your country/state/local have 0% ethanol in 91 octane gas?The emissions light may come on if the vehicle detects the ethanol to fuel ratio raises above the standard 10%. Fuel injector cleaner is usually alcohol based and shouldn't be added if you have less then half a tank of gas. It may not go away unless you top off with a premium gas once or twice to drive the ethanol percentage back down. I could still be wrong though.
