I live in the city where the speed limits are 25-35 MPH. It seems that ECO mode wants to keep the Stinger around 1.3-1.5K RPM. I was averaging ~9-10 mpg (per the built in mpg calculator..for what its worth). I tested using Sport mode and using the paddle shifters to keep the car around 2K RPM and the mpg jumped up to 16.5 MPG.

Has anyone else tried this? Is there a tune anyone knows about that keeps the Stinger around 2K RPM?

*2020 Kia Stinger GT1 V6 3.3L AWD
*92 OCT Gas

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

i did what another guy or gal posted on here, he or she said they drive in Smart mode and when they want power, drive in Sport mode. ive been getting good gas mileage in the city in Smart mode.
one thing ive noticed is that Smart mode used to do that coasting thing and it no longer coast like it used to in Smart mode.
what would make coasting not work anymore in Smart mode?

Coasting is an option you can turn on or off. When on, it will only coast in Eco mode if I'm not mistaken. You can find the option on the large screen, not the dash one. If you ever disconnected the battery it might have defaulted back to factory which is off.

Wait y'all are getting 16 mpgs? I'm lucky to get 12 but then again I don't drive very eco like.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

yeah i know you can turn coasting on or off. i think it works in smart and eco.

thanks all! i have not tried smart mode yet...i will check that out...ECO is such a misleading mode haha.

coasting also makes for a less enjoyable drive imo...the car really jerks when it reengages the transmission
