2022 Front badge removal

I am picking my new stinger from kia next week and im hoping the badges come off ok, was it hard getting them off? Have you took off the rear badges yet? Do you have links to new ones like the E

My detailer took off my hood badge, and he did note that the emblem SNAPPED when he was removing it. I inspected the area pretty well and there is no damage, so I didn't ask any other questions or to even see the badge. Ignorance is bliss

I recently purchased the glossy black STINGER emblem and will be replacing that on the rear myself. Goo-gone, unwaxed dental floss, and a hair dryer is what I have used in the past. Will probably do the work this weekend and report back.

Thinking of getting the new Kia Emblem. Would you do gloss black on black or grey the brushed aluminum? Was thinking going black on black.

Black on Black is a slick look. It wont be an "in your face" style point but will be seen.

I went with the brushed on white. Its also in a non OEM spot so it gets overlooked a lot

I presume your July built came with the old logo?

My August build has the new ones.
Yes, it did come with the old ones, looks like I was 1 month too early, just my luck. Still, hope you enjoy your car as much as I am.

I debadged both 2022 logos today. This has got to be the easiest car to debadge.

Simply use a hair dryer to soften the adhesive and then fishing line to cut through. 99% of remaining adhesive can be rolled up into balls using your finger. Very, very easy. Then use diluted rubbing alcohol (I used 60%) to very lightly wipe up the tiny bits left.

I also relocated the Stinger badge to the middle. The 2022 badge is brushed silver and slightly smaller than those sold on KDM and eBay. But I like it smaller than larger.

I've also used vinyl to cover up the logos on the wheel hub caps.

No more KIA logos on the outside!

Next will be to apply vinyl on the steering wheel cover. Either a complete circle, or just cover the logo.

Mine's an Aug build as well but with the new logos. I wonder how Kia decided on the cutover date!

I’m not sure, think the smaller markets (NZ) are getting the leftover old badges. Maybe being a bit cynical here.

Great thread guys. I am awaiting my SWP 2022 Stinger GT Ltd in Canada, ETA Feb 20. I've been de-badging cars for YEARS (Professional detailer). This car seems very easy to do, thankfully.

D.

Hi I just got my 2022 Scorpion in Jan! Was the longest two-month wait of my life! Lol
I have been thinking about getting rid of the badges. Have never done it before so I'm a little bit scared. Took the dealer name off this morning.. just used my nails. No harm. Someone said no wax floss... is the wax kind bad for some reason? Like I said I am a total noob so please pardon if I am asking a totally obvious question!

I believe the waxed line is softer so more prone to breaking. I could be wrong.

Hey all,

Great thread and exactly what I was looking for. Own a 2022 Scorpion edition and want to debadge the trunk lid and then do a large gloss black "stinger" logo.

Want to replace the front brushed KIA with a gloss black one but a bit hesitant as everything front facing is 3M'ed so any heat will mess with that as well. Bought the vinyl stick on for the front as a temp measure.

Cheers

Used 50lb. braided fishing line on my '22, took badges off easy. I pull up a little while sawing the line through. Leaves a little tape behind, but just roll it up with your fingers and off it comes. Clean with acetone and a microfiber cloth after and can't even tell they were there.

I have confirmed, there are no posts. It is just a sticker on the surface and can be removed. It is on there pretty good though and is made out of metal, so it likes to cut through the floss/fishing wire, so be prepared to take your time and use very small amounts of heat.
Not meaning necro an old thread..... Did you replace the emblem with the round "E" style or just go badge-less?

Park it in the Sun just peel it off little WD-40 to clean up the glue left behind.

I went badgeless.

I've never understood this thing with the "E". Sure it's a Korean thing, but it does nothing for me, and I actually find it totally cringy.

Why some people would even have it on their wheels and steering wheel is beyond me. Unless it's a Bentley of course.

This is why I'm glad the 2022's don't have holes in the front or rear, otherwise I would have felt obligated to put something there. I did put the larger stinger badge across the centre back of the trunk above the license plate and left the GT badge on the rear as well, but that's all I'm running now.

At lerast when I had a genesis coupe back in the day, you could go badge less in the front and I put one of those winged emblems on the back, those were pretty decent, but yeah, was never a fan of the E myself.

I have an "E" badge that I could install, but I'm liking the badge-less look in the front. Also, the "K" style is growing on me.
