not much if any gains to be had with downpipes if your already tuned.

Really? Surely there's something to be had from getting rid of those horribly choked off stock primary pipes.

nope. its been dyno proven that the downpipes flow just fine. maybe like 5hp gain but otherwise not worth it unless you want more sound.

Here's before and after when I installed my high-flow downpipe primary and secondary combo

Jb4, Big Bore throttle body, borla Cat-Back, primary downpipe combo, K&N intake,BMS intercooler, 93 octane,

Have catted downpipe on my civic type r and what i noticed mainly was the turbo spooled up faster not really seen anyone running catted downpipe on the forum yet.

Yes downpipes did allow the turbo to spool up faster on non tuned stingers. However a tuned stinger spins them up fast enough so the gain is minimal.

Is your catted downpipe or cat less ?

400 cell primary downpipes
So would you recommend this upgrade? have jb4 bms cai, bms intercooler ,ark midpipes there catted is 200cell, also did it make exhaust louder?

Yes the car is much louder, definitely would want exhaust tips, if I had it to do all over again I would have just replaced secondary downpipes, in cold weather you will experience overboost issues, I did buy the ewg wire harness but have not installed it on to the jb4 yet

Care to elaborate a bit more for me as I'm looking extensively. Because the gain wasn't tremendous and the overboost issues, you think just replacing secondary downpipes are sufficient and not primary? With a tune, are we really modifying any parts of the exhaust primarily for sound more than anything else then?
