Hey folks,

I fell in love with EBC Redstuff, ordered some from buybrakes.com and unfortunately was told they're on backorder for months and I can't find them anywhere else. I currently have Girodisc Street/Strip pads but they make an absolutely insane amount of dust, and I want the lowest dust pads possible while still being high performance.

I'm considering grabbing Hawk Ceramic pads from KNSBrakes, but are there any other great pads I should look into?

I got mine a few weeks ago direct from EBC @ perfectbrakes.com; a silly url, but they ship direct from EBC and tend to have the best stock anywhere. They shipped in 24 hours and were at my doorstep in a few days.

I can't post direct links so you'll have to do go to the site yourself...

I've been really impressed with the pads, too. No vibrations and much better pedal feel. Definitely a worthy upgrade.

THANK YOU! I just placed an order, hopefully it arrives soon. I haven't been able to find them ANYWHERE else. I was considering DBA Street Performance pads but... they're bright green. I just don't know if I could survive with christmas brakes for 50,000 miles!

Dammit, I ordered them and got an email 3 hours later saying Redstuff is out of stock until late October. God dammit.

Heh, I got the same email... Send EBC Brakes a private message on the forums, they got me sorted out:

Again, you'll have to search their username because I can't even post local links

Do you have experience with any other brake pads? I am a bit torn between redstuff, yellowstuff, Hawk HPS 5.0, and Centric Posi Quiet.

You might want to try their vendor page on this forum, towards the bottom. If that doesn't work, I can always try to contact them on the Genesis forum, which I can actually send PMs from, haha.

I have Girodisc SS pads on my front. Can't speak for how good they are because they're on unturned stock rotors so all my brakes are garbage right now. However the SS pads make SO much dust- One week without washing my car and my wheels are filthy and gross, it looks like I just got off the track or hadnt washed my car in 3 months.

I have DBA Street Performance pads in the back and they're great and not dusty at all. Honestly, I love everything about them EXCEPT for the fact that they're bright green pads on red rotors on a blue car- they just look totally out of place.

Redstuff is dustier but not as bitey as yellowstuff. For daily driving, get redstuff. For really intense or track driving, get yellow.

My EBC reds dust a lot...

Ditto, unfortunately...

Hey OP, as a fellow "detailing nerd," have you considered a ceramic coating? Gyeon makes a wheel-specific coating called Q2 rim that should help out considerably with dusting issues.

I have the hawk hps 5.0 on the front with stock rotors and stock rear pads. It definitely improved the braking/shuddering but I need rotors at this point. Likely going with the Cquence dimpled/slotted.

I have around 1k miles on the hawk pads, hopefully that won’t be cause any issues if I replace the rotors.

I currently have Beasley's Matte Wheel Sealant on, but I haven't been very impressed with it. I'm installing intakes, fog lights, rotors, pads, emblems, and a glass sealant soon so I really need to stop spending money on my car, but I have definitely been keeping an eye on the Q2 for that exact reason!

If you're still shopping around, feel free to ping me probably next weekend for my input on the cquence rotors. I just got slotted since I've heard the dimpled/drilled rotors make a lot of noise. Definitely replace your rear pads if you replace your rotors, if you don't want anything special you can get Akebono rear ceramic pads for like $45 on rockauto.

I ended up ordering Girodisc Magic pads. The DBA SP500 pads look so good but I just really don't want green pads. Hopefully the Magic pads dust way less than their SS pads and still stop well, im looking forward to trying them out with the Cquence rotors!

Hey peeps,

I have a 2019 Stinger GT AWD, and it's my daily driver. It serves two purposes: be quiet in comfort mode when I transport wife and kid, and be fun in sport mode when it's just me. 2x a year I also do HPDE on the track. With this in mind, what color should I upgrade my stock pads to? I am still on stock rotors. Price isn't a huge concern, but I don't want to be replacing these yearly.

I really, really, don't want anything noisy that wife will complain about. So if I have to pay for a higher quality pad, that's fine.

I ended up getting Girodisc Magic pads on the front that I really like. I have DBA SP pads on the back and they're okay but they don't seem to make perfect contact. If you can find Redstuff for the rears that would be absolutely perfect.

Why different pads for front/rear? My car is AWD
Doesn't make any difference as long as they're the same on the same axle. Girodisc Magic isn't available for rears and Redstuff is impossible to find for fronts right now, and they're both extremely similar compounds so it doesn't matter. As long as you don't have garbage brakes in the front and insanely grabby brakes in the back it makes no difference.
