Chrome has a weird finish that I can scrape off with my fingernails

The more you shoot that the worse it looks. I could not, would not, put up with that for a day: I'd have the pieces off and stripped to the bare metal if nothing else (a la @rocket23 's solution, which in his pics look really good).

I haven't taken them off, but I've read that when you open the hatch, if you lift up on the bottom of the rear end, they unclip and you lift them out: I'm speaking about the "drip rails", which this discussion has brought up: I don't know how the window trim pieces come off.

What keeps those moldings in place?
simple clips that adhere to the metal clips welded to the car body.........snap off, snap on.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I had my car ceramic coated last year and the guys said they spent a good amount of effort to produce an ideal result to no avail. Thanks for this topic, will most likely have them vinyl wrapped or ask the dealer if they want to replace them or pay to have a more lasting solution..

Welcome, @Crick . And good luck on your decision. If you read what I described as my temporary solution, above, you'll see that I waxed the window trim over half a year ago. They still look good and no further spotting has occurred (knock on wood, heh).
