just rode in a coworkers s5 sportback this week and was surprised at how noisy the pillarless windows are, lots and lots of high pitched squeaks...
This was really bad on my 4-series grand coupe. Going over a curb like into a driveway would make a sound like it was breaking in half. Supposedly it all came from the door-seals against the windows as the body flexed. Yeah, pillarless windows...but the car itself wasn't really stiff enough or put together well enough for that feature. My SS 1LE on the other hand, same thing works fine.

yea, another reason why we didn't go with the 440 gc as that was what i was set on getting it until we drove the stinger right after the 4 and it was so much more solid.

Yes that is correct.
My driver side interior door handle separated in the same way, a few weeks after delivery (2022 GT Elite, Canada). Dealer says a new complete door panel is required - still waiting a month later. Hope you have better luck.

Same here Steve! I went in a month ago, the panel needs to be replaced they told me...haven't heard from them yet due to backorder...yesterday, the passenger side also popped out....super annoying!

Sorry to hear about this. Obviously a common problem that should not have been allowed to happen. It's under warranty, of course, but a pain and doesn't give much confidence in the vehicle over the long haul. I still love mine. Hope yours is fixed soon. Best of luck!

I had a good look today and it looks like the handle uses insert nuts to secure the screw from the door panel to the handled.

Doesn't appear to a be a threaded insert nut, instead a knurled one which I can't imagine (and evidently) would hold up to constant pulling...I'm surprised they didn't use a threaded nut as it would be far more secure as it would thread itself into the plastic a lot better.

These would be a better solution...but I'm no engineer!

I watched my friends pull on the grab handle yesterday (first one guy, then after we dropped him off, the other guy): especially with the car leaned over on the shoulder of the highway, i.e. the door hanging down at an angle and with added force on the grab handle: I didn't say anything, just watched them pull the door closed (one of the guys has fused vertebrae and couldn't reach the armrest cup anyway). Wondered if sometime down the road the grab handle would bust: none of the pre-2022 cars have reported this. Made me wonder where in the assembly chain the fubar occurred. It could be bean counters cheaping out (but this I doubt: because how could a knurled insert really be any cheaper than a screwed in one; and besides, who is going to "take one for the team" and go disassemble their door card and grab handle to see if pre-2022s have screwed in grab handle inserts?): but I suspect a material flaw, perhaps the plastic supplier has had a failure and the plastic used recently is less high impact for some chemical variance reason: or perhaps the inserts supplied went through a slight change and no longer are precisely the original size, i.e. they are just every so slightly too small and are pulling out. Could be any number of reasons, without this being the result of a bean counter decision gone bad (almost all bean counter decisions are bad ones).

I guess the good thing about me getting a Borla catback on my Stinger is now I don't hear all the rattles, shakes, squeaks, and crazy weird sounds from the car. :p

Got the car back, rattle fixed! The service manager told me he had 3 other stingers with a rattle in the same spot, one of the sunroof tracks. At least its an easily addressable issue.

did they mention how they fixed it?

He said they had to tighten the frame inside the roof that the sunroof track bolts to. Apparently when the sunroof flexes over time (And during winter/summer) it can loosen the connectors between the track and the frame as the sunroof flexes in the roof.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll have em check it out this week….hopefully the fourth (fifth?) time in will be the charm
Not to be overly optimistic, but I think that rocker panel clip recommendation for sound traveling up the B pillar did it.

The initial first response when they had it was of course “we don’t hear anything”, and very explicitly told them to check the rocker panel clips as noted above. Granted there have been only a handful of trips since then, but most have been in the freeways in multiple crosswind orientations and it’s as quiet as I expected it to be based on my ‘18 Stinger. ::knock on wood::

Thanks again for that piece of advice!

fingers crossed!!

Two sounds I hear fairly consistently not mentioned by others as far as I know:

Water sloshing when accelerating from dead stop? Usually hear it from front passenger side door?? I figured it was something I saw about draining water inside the door panel from the bottom but I could not see any drain hole covers to remove.

Mechanical noises from front driver side suspension, usually while turning steering wheel under low speed conditions, such as backing out of a garage/parking spot.

I hope it didn't (literally) let anybody down. How did you discover that it was broken? I've never heard of this happening before, by the way.
This happened to both of my front doors. It was replaced for free, there's a TSB on those. Interior handles will break off so they replace the whole door card

It was sorta funny cause the driver side was first to go and there wasn't a TSB on it. A few months later my passenger side broke and there was a TSB for those lol

my 2019 premium has the trunk thunk, but only on real bumps in the asphalt and the effect is to make the already 'thunky' road surface noisier. and this seems to happen mostly when the car is cold. apparently when the interior warms up the thunk goes away except going over any more pronounced road irregularity. even then it is just a single 'thunk' with each bump and then everything is quiet the rest of the time. if I had the hatch rattle or squeak or crackle that was constant I'd do something about it.

I also have the creaking noise on the driver side (suspension I’m assuming), when backing out in the morning. Idk if something is loose and curious if anyone else has the same issue and the fix?

This isn't Kia's fault but the centre led vents that you can get from the K8 store rattle. A lot. Really annoying since nothing else in my car rattles. They make this constant "clickety click" with the vibration of the road and then a much louder crunch when you hit a bump. If you put your finger on the center of them they don't rattle. Pieces of junk. I'm tempted to put my old stock vents back in.

How many of you guys are dealing with misc rattles that you can’t seem to sort out?

How many have had the interior door handles pull off the door card?

Any other pressing issues on the 2.5 or 3.3 that the dealer can’t seem to fix?
I have rattling issues toward the back of the vehicle -- 2020 KIa Stinger GT1 RWD. Sometimes I don't notice any sound. Other times, it is pervasive. I take great care of my car, as it is my beautiful baby.

I have discovered that the cover for the liftgate emergency lever may cause a rattling noise.

I own a 2018 Gt I hear a rattle coming from my sunglass compartment. Anyone else?
