Hello all! New owner here in the Chicagoland area. Bought a 2022 GT1 AWD in Ceramic Silver with the red leather last month. Been loving it so far although still getting use to getting down into it since my previous vehicle was an SUV lol. I'm not new to sporty or turbo cars, former DSM owner, but new to all the fancy technology that's in newer cars. Looking forward to seeing what this thing can do!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! Which SUV did the Stinger replace for you? I'm glad you found us. :)

A 2008 Ford Edge. Was originally looking to replace it with a new Edge ST but couldn't find the one I wanted. Then I learned that the rear seats fold down in the Stinger and here we are!

Congrats and welcome!
Any plans to mod?

Howdy. Be thinking about winter tires, either A/S with ultra careful going in snow, or dedicated snow tires. I use the OEM wheels with A/S Nitto Motivo as my winter setup around here (I do not go up into the canyons in the winter).

Absolutely, probably just the typical performance mods. At least till more mods become readily available.

It came with Michelin Primavy Tour A/S tires but dedicated snow tires for the stock rims have crossed my mind. That would also give me the excuse to get aftermarket wheels with summer tires!

Congrats. I see the door edge guards. Was that part of some "protection" package (ie market adjustment) that you negotiated to a more realistic price?

Did a double take on your garage... Ours is the same color.

Yeah they were dealer installed as part of a protection package. Xzilon protection inside and out. Can't say that my negotiation skills help lower the price at all...

Sounds like a suburban kia... The palatine kia or schaumburg?

Before the stinger I almost bought a sonata nline from the 2 hyundai places in the NW suburbs. Walked away from both both deals on principle.

Beautiful!

It looks like you've got some protection accessories on there, including mud flaps.

Are those door edge guards? If they are the u-channel ones that can be found in auto parts stores, something you may want to consider is going with an invisible, PPF (paint protection film) style guard. Aside from the film-based ones making the door shut lines look smoother, the u-channel ones might trap stuff over time and at some point you may need some paint correction if you remove them if anything abrasive gets in there; once that happens, scratches are just a car wash-and-dry away.

Just mentioning this now while everything is brand new. Nothing against those U-channel stuff in terms of form or function, but figured it's better to consider options before any potential issues later. And, it could just be my eyes playing tricks on me.

Like I said though, beautiful!

They are not the u-channel design, they are stuck flush with the edge of the door. Though it does look like there's a space at the front of the strip that sits away from the door, that might be trouble like you've stated.

Schaumburg Kia. I probably should have walked away but my desire outweighed my intelligence.

Lol... I actually test drove a rwd 2.5t model there about a month ago. It was a mgr demo who smoked in it. I couldn't shake the smell during the entire drive. Reminded me a of a smelly damp locker room.

Mine came from mchenry about 3 weeks ago. I got the gt-line at just under 3K below msrp. I started calling further and further out. Was willing to go up to 150-200 miles away, but couldn't bring myself to pay over msrp or even msrp. I wasn't committed to any particular car at the time and kept bouncing between suv's and cars. Made walking away from deals easy.

I understand desire however. My last 2 bike purchases were completely on impulse. Just had to have them.

Just purchased a 2022 GT_Line 2.5 AWD. I live in northern Illinois, so our winters can be very dicey. I am going to install a set of Blizzak 90's on aftermarket wheels. Will probably do in mid to late October.

Welcome!

Hey Erocked,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new '22.

I personally went with a GT1 in Ceramic Silver for my personal car as well.

The Kia Stinger is one of the best all-around platforms available in the market.

Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions or if you would like a discount at our website www.K8StingerStore.com.

Enjoy your new ride,
