Code clearing issues

Popped a p0049 code. Overboost. Jb4 will not clear, has in somewhat of a limp mode. Does anyone know how to remedy? Only answers with legit results. I dont want to be hours chasing maybe’s

An OBD reader/analyzer can clear the code if it won’t come off using the JB4. You can get one at Advanced Auto Parts. Auto Zone, or off Amazon. They are good to have anyway for detecting problems. To actually fix the problem, you will need EWG wires with the JB4. As mentioned by soCALsho, emailing Terry is a good idea as he will help with the proper settings to fix the overboost (this varies from car to car). My guess is that he will say something similar to what I have said.

Jb4 will clear codes. Shut the car off. Click the start button twice without the brake pedal. Connect jb4/check that it is connectwd. Then clear it. You can't clear it while the cars running

That’s definitely a good first step and agree it can’t be cleared while the car is running. However, sometimes codes don’t clear with the JB4 (this happened to me a while back) and a cheap OBD reader can do it if this is the case.

Never had any issues personally with clearing them.

Thank you for intelligent replies. I do not mean to be an a$$. But i read through some of this and you see, check the oil, make sure a boot hasnt blown off, blow off valves will stop it, yada yada yada. I would 10 times rather deal with people who have the same goal and knowledge.

Thanks brother didn’t know the car was supposed to be off. Have a g70 you just saved me a trip to the shop XD

FYI, I used to have overboost at times (ARL secondaries), I used the Sxth element Ek1lite platform to flash Terry's BEF to my ECU, and no more overboost.
Also, the engine must be on but not running (press the start button twice without pressing the brake pedal) to clear codes, no matter what reader you use.
